    Default Bank roll for SNG

I'm pretty familiar with BR and RING games, but how does BR apply to SNG?

How much should my initial bankroll be for $5 +.5 and when would I move up to $10 +1 [in terms of BR and NOT skill level].

How much can i lose a day and still be ok? [does this still apply]

I play ring and want to have a separate "BR" for SNG. So I'm trying to see how this would work.

    Thanks!!

depends on who you ask, most people say 20-25 buyins, though i routinely have downswings of more than 20 buyins.

I recommend starting with $100 as the minimum for $5 + .5 SnGs (if your game is solid), $150 if you're just beginning SnGs.

I would move up to the $10+1's when you have $330 (30 buyins).

I would quit for the day anytime I lose more than 5-10% of my bankroll.

    5-10%??

That means I would have to quit once I lose one sng...

    You sure about that?

When you're still playing the $5's, 10% is fine.

The accepted rule is to not risk more than 10% of your bankroll a day.

    Are you going to multitable?

    If No,
    25-30 buyins

    If yes,
    alot more. =)
I would go with like 50-70 if you never want to reload and you multitable. You WILL go through swings.

yea, there are many differing views on this.

Ake says 60x, boost says 20x.

Go for more if in doubt about your ability to beat the game consistently

depends how much you are beating the game by, the lower your roi, the bigger the downswings you will periodically encounter. i'd suggest 50x buy-in although personally i perfer more because i mainly play party sngs and i like to have around 100x. also i don't know if it is necessary to quit after 5-10%. for example, if im 8 tabling party $55 sngs all day long it would be possible to lose 20 buy-ins if im running bad. that would be $1100. so for that to be in the 5-10% range that would mean my bankroll would need to be $11k-$22k bankroll just for $55 sngs. if i have 50-100 buy-in bankroll i could lose over 5% after just 1 hour of 8 tabling which means i'd have to quit for the day. this is why i prefer to have around 100 buy-in bankroll.

Although it seems like a very conservative approach, i suggest not starting without 100x the buy-in. You don't want to play jungle survival, you want to play poker. If you have concerns about loosing your whole bankroll, you aren't able to play agressive poker.

id go for 30 buy ins. I would hope at the $5 buy ins you will soon begin to beat the game or at least break even therefore you need a solid 'roll but not an insane amount. As you move up id collect 5 extra buy ins per level so 35 for 10 40 for 15s etc.
