    Default AK UTG Small Blinds

Tonight I was dealt AK UTG with small 10-20 blinds. I raised to 60 and got at least 4-5 callers, I missed the flop and folded when it was bet. Should I have raised 5-6 x BB or something instead? I hate getting involved early and also didn't want to bust out on a K52 flops and somebody sitting there with K5o. What's your standard play here?

I think that ur stack size is important here.

BUt the general consense is that with premium hands early on u want ot raise more becuase people will call with anything.
I am sure after I post this someoen will say raise to 5-6xBB.

why raise more with AK? i raise more with big pairs, not AK.

also, limping AK isn't that bad.

with deeper stacks u worry more about not being able to let go of TPTK.

I really thought about just limping with AK, but I couldn't make myself do it. I figured my raise would at least thin the field down to two other players, but it didn't happen. It's ok, I ended up finishing second anyways.

I often limp here, and once I limp into a pot, I'm not going to the felt with TPTK. I have to have a much stronger hand (or draw). This hand is easy to release at this level.
