Default Project Party SNGs - $20+2s...downswing from hell?

Ok, I have a new party account and I set out to take a $50 dollar deposit and through massive SNG grinding, turn that $50 bucks into a fortune. I rolled through the $5+1s and the $10+1s like it was nothing and than ran into a brick wall in the $20+2s. Here are my stats:

    $5+1s:

    34 Tourneys
    $161 Profit
    $7.23 Rakeback
    59% ITM
    82.47% ROI w/ Rakeback

    $10+1s:

    100 Tourneys
    $520 Profit
    $21.25 Rakeback
    44% ITM
    49.20% ROI w/ Rakeback

    $20+2s:

    127 Tourneys
    -$494 Profit
    $53.98 Rakeback
    26% ITM
    -15.75% ROI w/ Rakeback

Ok, so the question is, am I missing something about these $20+2s that is stopping me from beating them or I am just suffering a major kick to the nuts from variance? Is there something I should know about the $20+2s that differs from the $10+1s..as far as I know my play has been the same. I've suffered some bad beats throughout this, i.e. losing to quads 11 times in 1 day (with either a boat, nut flush, or nut straight). I just want to know if I should be looking for some major leak in my game or is this just one hell of a downswing?

ur sample size at all levels are too small to come to any good conclusion.

20 buyin downswing over 127 SNGs is not somehting that is uncommon.

yeah I figured as much, just didn't expect it to start from the 1st SNG I played lol, kinda sux when u turn 50 bucks into 700+ in 134 then 127 later u're looking at 300. Just wanted to see if this was something I should be seriously worried about.

stop playing for 1 day and look at ur HHs.

25 buy in downswings suck by they are not that uncommon. You really need to play more games, but i suspect u have some leaks, cause the 22's r very soft and 20+ buy in downswings dont happen often for me at those stakes.
  6. #6
I doubt he has any leaks, its a 20 buyin downswing which is not. that bad. Hopefully you will start getting a little bit luckier.

thats an ugly raise preflop regardless of wat cards u have. You can target the SB wihtout pricing urself into a call against Gabe.

wrong....do the math...i have gabe outstacked 1400 to 880 preflop. so....if i have him covered....and he pushes the flop, he wins a pot of (880*2)+(50 SB) = 1810. Yet, he only wins a pot of 1405. I'm not saying this hand didn't occur. But this hand history is definetely incorrect. That and gabe didn't have 505 to push with at that point in the hand.

alright F that, i asked for the hand number, u don't want to give it to me, thats messed up. If i did make this call, I would like to be able to look at the damn hand and see for myself. I don't think thats too much to ask.

My advice is to quit losing to quads. Quads are just more common on the $22s than on the lower buyins. Most $22ers have spent more money on a pattern mapper that is worth a damn. The $11ers probably got theirs in a gum ball machine or out of a cracker jack box (which is where I got my first one). Anyhow, when my pattern mapper let's me know that quads is coming, I know it's time to shut her down, and I don't lose any more chips.

If you can't afford a good pattern mapper, then the next best thing to get is a luckbox. These are extremely rare, and are not purchaseable. A luckbox is far superior to a pattern mapper, as it can get you out of jams, like this time that some guy rivered quads on me, it actually gave me a straight flush (what a dumbass). Anyhow, my luckbox I got before I discovered poker, so it's pretty used up, and I don't get the real bang that you'd expect from it. I used it up chasing tail in college. It was pretty successful for me. Like this one time, I was totally loaded at this dance club. And I met this chick grinding on the dance floor. Anyhow, after the song, we went back to a private booth. She sat across from me, and I projectile barfed across the table into her lap. Anyhow, I used one of my better pickup lines following that embarrasing moment ~ "wanna go back to my place?" Anyhow, without my luckbox, I don't think I would have gotten the shakedown that night.

Anyhow, my point is, I think you need to either buy a good pattern mapper, or find a luckbox. It will change your bad luck.

This is my 4th post on the form.

Lambchopdc my advice is get a pattern mapper. A good luckbox is very expensive, and are hard to come by. I will let you know if I see any bargains on ebay for one.

pretty damn funny scuba. I laughed.

hmmmm downswings... Once I had like 8 straight OTM finishes. But my suggestion is when these start to get bad (whatever bad is to you) move down a level and fhow some profit before you freak and realize how far down you've gone. Maybe in the long run my advice sucks because you're wasting time at lower levels but I think it's good to stop a slide. I just can't imagine a slide this bad without bad play.
