How to make more money?

Somehow, I have a feeling that in this hand I could have done better. Villain's refusal to be intimidated made me too careful, and the river completed a potential flush, so again I chose to be careful. Could I have done better?

You could bet more here on the turn but you risk scaring him off. I still like reraising to $7 or so on that street. Other than that, the only thing I can see here for you to make more money is to BET THE FREAKING RIVER.

Geeze, c'mon, value bet it at least, something like another $5. If you think this donkey will call you, my god man, PUSH! You have him beat, if he had AA/KK he would have let you know by now. Checking on the river is not going to induce a bet on the next street, because well, there is no next street!

There is no reason to get shy on the river. Like UG says, AA/KK would let you know before then. I bet he was going for a check-raise too.

oops, so did I. I was so looking for the flush completing, that I missed the board tripping up. I guess that should teach me to stop and think before checking.

Heh, don't worry about it - but do realise how even posting this thread has taught you to be more aware of the board and even of your own hand.

If you believe you are favourite, you have to bet on the river (and of course you do believe you're favourite). He might, feasibly, be trying to trap you into raising and then going all in, but you have to think that your cards won't change - if you're gonna los, you're gonna lose anyway. So bet on the river and extract at least another $5 from him.

I'm not sure if we've all done it, but I know I messed up a time or two with a full house when I was just beginning. I remember once having 33 in the hole, and the board came K3K. I bet, somebody reraised me pretty hard, and I folded.....I folded because I thought, "I have three threes, he OBVIOUSLY has three kings, which is way better...I gotta fold this." I got berated quite nicely for that play.

Lucky for me, I still won the SNG and learned a very valuable lesson that day.

Indeed, in this hand you HOPE he has the flush. In this situation I push the river every time. The flush will call and something less will likely fold but most importantly…the flush will call. Hehe. I love it when you are worrying on every street about the flush hitting and then suddenly you are beating the flush and it is there. PUSH.

Hmm.. raise the turn harder......

On the river, there are trips on the board.. you aren't afraid of losing to a flush. royal flush > straight flush > 4OK > full house > flush > straight > 3OK > 2 pair > 1 pair > high card.

I don't think checking behind on the river is AS bad of a play here as some make it out to be. It is a little weak though. I'd bet it.

HOWEVER:
QQ loses to 88, 44, KK, AA, and 2x.

It's honestly not that bad of a check considering the size of the stacks.. nearly 200BB for each.
