Default after c- bet is called?

This happens often enough that has been a nagging question. If your c bet is called on the flop ( but not raised)- on the turn, do you take another swing? or just check/fold? on this hand it was so early i had no read to speak of...a bet here feels like a "dark tunnel bluff" ( from Hoh2), but it's tempting to me for some reason....

I'd probably just check behind, especially since the flush draw just completed. When somebody calls my continuation bets, they're indicating that their hand combines in some reasonable way with the community cards (unless they're very passive, in which case it still doesn't make sense to keep bluffing), so I tend to think it's pretty unprofitable to proceed with a bluff at that point, unless I have a draw. I think you should sometimes continue bluffing on the turn and even the river for the purpose of avoiding having patterns in your betting, but I don't think it's a very good idea in general.

Not all hands that are raised preflop need to have a c-bet. This is a great example. This is not a good flop to c-bet with. In fact, the way it played out, if it was checked to you again on the turn, that would have been a better time to make your wasted flop c-bet.

so what you are saying is that a board like this is draw heavy, so you are more likely to get called correct? But in this case, unless its a mid pair, its a draw that you have beat. I bet this flop thinking i have the best hand. You are heads up on the flop, with a gutshot and 2 over cards and position, checking this flop is not correct.

I agree 100% that this is correct. But I believe this is more correct in higher buyin SNGs, than it is correct in lower buyin sngs. I often try and give advice based on the buyin. More often than not, these situations get lower buyin players into more trouble than it benefits them.

Furthermore, I agree that our hero likely still has the best hand at the moment. But I've just developed a knack or sense for situations that are better/worse for continuation bets. In low buyins, this is called all the time. So, unless our hero is trying to build a bigger pot, which has it's own benefits and detriments, I think checking is just fine.

thanks guys..after realizing also that the 3rd diamond has now hit on the turn- perhaps check/folding is also the best plan? at the time, that (embarrasing to admit!) didnt even occur to me...
