Default I shouldn't have bet the river, right?

Well, another early position loss. I still have no idea how to play from there. I had this hand earlier:

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t30 (7 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

    saw flop|saw showdown

    Silverfist (t1630)
    BB (t1550)
    UTG (t1370)
    MP1 (t3010)
    MP2 (t1380)
    CO (t1720)
    Button (t2840)

Preflop: Silverfist is SB with K, Q.
3 folds, CO calls t30, 1 fold, Silverfist completes, BB checks.

    Flop: (t90) 8, Q, 2 (3 players)
Silverfist bets t60, BB calls t60, CO folds.

    Turn: (t210) 5 (2 players)
Silverfist bets t110, BB calls t110.

    River: (t430) 5 (2 players)
Silverfist bets t230, BB raises to t460, Silverfist calls t230.

    Final Pot: t1350

I don't know... you've got a strong hand... but I almost certainly don't call the river reraise.

I probably check the river and see what he wants to do. Because he's in the BB and got in for free, a 5 is not inconcievable. A little preflop aggression wouldn't kill ya here, either.

Okay, thanks. I was wondering about raising this. With a single caller, Harrington suggests just calling with KQs, and that's in position. I figured that being out of position, I should be more cautious. Maybe I've got it backwards, and I've actually got more reason to settle it pre-flop when on the SB?

Oh, it turns out he was actually on a flush draw.

you played it fine I think, except for the river call, the diamond and the raise was pretty clear indication he hit his flush most likely. You gave him close to good odds for calling on the flop and turn, maybe a little stronger bet there would have taken it down, then again this is a 5$ SnG where fish will call almost any bet on a flush draw- still not a bad play, except for the call on the river (unless you had a read on him that justified this call), i might check/fold the river here .. my .02

min raises on the river at this level are usually value raises of the goods.

FWIW, on the river, you can fold knowing that you're beat. You don't need to call and have him prove it. If you haven't adopted this strategy, I have a better river line.

It looks as though you'd be willing to bet ~ 200 chips. So, instead, check, and call up to 200 chips. If he pushes, so be it. Anyhow, with the diamond on the river, I don't know how many hands that you currently beat are calling you, so you'e only getting called/raised by hands that beat you.

    Adopt a different river strategy.

His call on the flop and turn most likely indicates he was on a draw, and there are remote straight draws out there, so instantly I put him on the flush draw. He might have a hand like QJ and is calling you down to see if his kicker is good, but he's probably on the draw. Lights should flash in your head when that third diamond hits. I would have check-folded here. Once he raises you then you need to realize your hand is no good. The only draw on the board just hit, it's time to get out.

Yep this hand has all the familiar symptoms of a flush draw. I think your bet on the turn was much too weak. Bet the pot, that's a good hand you have. Don't let them get cheap cards.
