Busted out when I was doing well, staying out of trouble and this happens.

First of all, limping KTo UTG + 2 is a very weak play. After the flop, his raise of your 500 raise screams 77 or AT but I'm almost never folding here since it could be a fish-ily played over pair or a weaker Ten.
