PokerStars heads up play

Somebody explain this to me because I really don't understand it. In a cash game with only 2 players on Pokerstars, the player on the dealer button is the big blind, while the other player is the small blind. The SB obviously acts first before the flop, but also acts first on all subsequent betting rounds.

Needless the say, the correct format for heads up play is for the dealer to be the SB, acting first preflop and last post-flop.

As it plays, the dealer has such a large advantage being last to act on all betting rounds. The reason the dealer is the SB and acts first preflop (in correct play) is to help balance out the starting positions in heads up play.

With the SB also being out of position (PokerStars play) for the rest of the hand, it would often be correct to simply fold preflop, something that is rarely the right play with the correct method.

I know it was (is?) like this on PRIMA. I think they even used this format on prima for mtts. It sucks.

And my home game buddies always want it this way cause that's the way it works on prima and most of them play there.

ive spotted this too.
i play HU against my flat mate for fun and practice and we have the sb on the button. Stars obviously made a balls up by the look of it

Is that true? I often fold pre-flop heads up, but I am definitely a winning player at the modest limits at which I play. I'd love to hear more about what proportion of hands a decent player is likely to fold heads up.

I meant folding the SB outright before making any move, where you are getting 3:1 to call and have position post-flop.
