    Default How to handle KK

Just want to check if play was correct or bad.

1k players MTT. 29 players left.

I'm tenth or so chipstack at 53k

KK on hand, and I'm BB 4000.

    Chipleader raises 12000

    Button goes AI 23000

    SB folds.

    What should I do?

What I did was AI in order to scare away chipleader if he had A X
It turned out he had AA and busted us both. Button had A J suited, but flop came up A rags rainbow and neither turn nor river helped out.

Should I have called and waited for that scary ace, or did I play correctly?

Where is that 'aces' quote when you need it?

You played fine, never fold KK in a MTT

Why never fold KK in a MTT. I said fold before I read he was up against AA I would have folded and let chip leader take a small stack out

Because with such big blinds/time pressures you need to more fast to accumulate chips. You can't wait around for aces, as people will be pushing with TT-QQ, AK, even AQ or worse if short stacked.
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

Toad - I think doggz is generalizing a bit on the "never fold" line. However in this situation, I probably end up with all my chips in there PF everytime, unless one of the opps is an ultra, ultra tighty or chats "I have AA, come get me" . Then, I'm probably in there on the flop, with no Ace w/o too much action in front.

Just face it, it's very hard to do anything here but lose and just chalk it up to bad timing. If you won this hand, you'd be a force and ready to battle for the big money, and KK as good as you'll see the rest of the way.
