You are worried about an 8 or a set here. He called your over bet on the turn, which should indicate a made hand (not always), so it's a tough call for a 1/3 of your stack at the end. The only thing you really beat here at the end is a busted flush draw or a bluff. I fold top two pair here mostly, though that is a little tighter play than many here.

I put opp on 44 or 77, or least likely 8x
    Hey knucklehead! Bonk!

This is why I don't complete before the flop. Alot of people will say you are getting 7-1 odds to call but in then long run you will have to make a tuff decision and lose money.
The other way I look at it, you played 9 10 Looking for a straight and made top pair. I check it down and fold to any bets. Too early to get involved.

On the flop I would have checked.
Any action after me and I would have folded.
Checking in this situation keeps the pot small for future considerations.

    On the turn
once u make the 2 pair you can bet at it. the good thing is that your LACK of betting ont he flop kept the pot small so that you save chips with your bet.

You bet and it folds around
    yay

    You bet and someone calls
you slow down big time and can possibly check call at the end depending on the river card (iun this case the 6 is bad and u fold)

    You bet and someone raises
    you fold.

I think that taking this line is much much better than leading the flop.

    flop is fine
turn bet is bad. you bet way too much. i bet about 200 here.
    river check call is good.

I don 't mind the completion at all... 7-1 is damn fine odds for what looks like a passive table.

Check the flop. You've got top pair no kicker, and no way to read the strength of your opponents.

Bet the turn, fold to any aggression.

Check and if the price is right, call on the river.

I think you played it pretty well for the most part.
