Default call to bluff- then extracting value with TPNK

i called the flop because i didn't think this guy had a great hand. i didn't raise because i was worried about the short stack behind me having a monster. my plan was to fold if the short stack pushed, otherwise i would raise the turn against the guy who lead into me.

i hit my pair on the turn and he makes another weak bet. this makes me think he has something like A6 or a smallish PP. I am pretty sure I have the best hand, but his range doesn't have very many outs to improve, so i don't need to raise to protect my hand. his even weaker bet on the river made me 100% sure i was best so i made a pretty small value bet.

also something to keep in mind, i was fairly sure i could push this guy off of his hand after seeing his flop bet. if i raise more on the turn like i would against most players, i dont think he would have called (which i would have done if i didn't hit the J).

    so hows my line?

With your reasoning, the line looks good.

My balls actually shrivel up on that river bet as I start to worry about a made 57 hand. So I probably wouldn't have made the extra value bet. But that's probably due to my focusing on prior beats rather than on making the correct decision for the actual hand I'm in.

with the way the BB has played this I think there is a good chance he is on A6 but more likely a PP - If he's on a PP it depends on your reads on this player regarding taking him off this hand with a bluff later - I like how you changed your plan as soon as the J hit since now you sure you are ahead and if he does have a PP or A6 its not likely he is going to hit them - wp

I like it... as long as you are sure he has A6 and not A4 ( I think the weak-bet/call on the river confirms that nicely)
