Default Flop a Low Boat - Is Slowplay Wrong?

I don't have the hand histories available, but twice recently I flopped a small boat (smaller end of the boat) and ended up losing the hand. I think these were just bad beats but I was wondering if I should have played this differently.

In both situations, it was early in a SNG and stacks were about even.

    **********

First case, I get dealt TT. I raise PF, and get one caller behind me. The flop comes AAT. I check, and he bets. I call. Turn is a brick. I check, and he bets again. I call again. The river is an A. I figure he might have the other Ace, so I bet to see where I stand. He raises all-in. I call and he turns over A9.

Should I have value bet this?

Should I have check-raised on the turn? I know he would have likely called but is this the place to get the money in the pot?

Should I have folded on the river? I guess so, but it's hard for me to flop a boat and throw it away.

    ***********

Second case, I limp in with 55 from the small blind. A couple of limpers and the BB limps too. The flop is 995. Again I check, figuring someone will bet for me. I get one bettor, everyone else folds, I call. The turn is a Q. I throw a value bet out, and get called. On the river, another Q comes. I bet to see where I stand (1/2 pot) and get called by T9 who wins with a bigger boat.

Should I have value bet, hoping for a raise on the flop, and then pushed?

first case raise on the turn if you think he will call, otherwise just kinda unlucky. second case you have to fold with 2 higher pairs on the board.

First case I would check-raise the turn, may even the flop.
You can pretty much assume the guy has an A. You have 4 outs against you, no reason to let him get it for free

2nd hand - if you have a couple of limpers I would have check raised the flop. At least in lower buy ins people dont fold trips easily, and putting you on a 55 is not trivial
