Default in short handed NL. it's raise or fold preflop?

well that's a little extreme i say. but i find it working very well for me for the pass couple of days. (getting bore of card camping 4 tabling 10 max, wanted more action for a change)

i usually raise with group 1-4 in any position, and raise with group 5 or below with position. sometimes even with any 2 cards. followed by some solid post flop play. i find it that alot of people have been reading the poker books out there and have learned how to play ABC poker on a full table. but in short handed NL in my opinion requires more skills and reads to win. so 6 max gives u the chance to outplay ur opponent more often hence yeilds more profits as well.

    Agree? yes no?

    Downswinging holla!
Typically if I'm the first in a pot I am raising, I always like to be the one in control. I'll limp with a bunch of other limpers if I've got a small pair or suited connector or something that can hit a nice flop. I play positional LAG and it seems to work well for the most part. Everything I do has to do with position.

OMG! I have to agree with a swede! this is probably like 2nd time ever

But really, there is nothing wrong letting others do the aggroing stuff if you can profitably trap them with SC's and PP's and such.

A couple of weeks ago I was just trying to be the table bully raising a lot PF but you know, 100BB game is all about post flop. 4x PF doesnt really mean that much, at least if you have position..

A good player will have bigger edge on SH tables for sure. Also if you are to play aggressive your variance will be pretty high as well. I have no idea which hands are in which groups partly because the original hand groupings such in No Limit and because after you learn to play the cards you dont have to remember any mechanical rules but you try to adjust to the game..

Anyways, I am glad you are giving SH a try. Just dont be too upset if you will have a rough start, atleast I had one..
