Hand Analysis - For a Newbie

Hi Guys. I see that some of the more experienced players offer to analyze a Newbies hand history. I downloaded this from my PokerStars a/c and would be most grateful for any help.
By the way, I play 25c and 50c No Limit Ring Games.

Hold'em (Real Money):

1782 hands played and saw flop:
- 193 times out of 332 while in small blind (58%)
- 231 times out of 332 while in big blind (69%)
- 406 times out of 1118 in other positions (36%)
- a total of 830 times out of 1782 (46%)

Pots won at showdown - 112 out of 214 (52%)
Pots won without showdown - 155

Very small sample but you are seeing way to many hands. Your total hands where you see a flop should be 15-30% in a full ring game.

It looks like you are bleeding money out of the blinds.

You are taking marginal hands too far. 52% win at showdown is bad. You want to get that % up to 75% at minimum and preferably 80-90%. You can't win em all but when you are taking things to show down and you are playing well aside from a few beats here and there you should be showing the better hand.

Post some full had histories for comment.

I find when I'm over 25% to see the flop, I'm playing too loose for a ring game. If I'm in a tournament, perhaps I'm dominating a table and playing 26-29 but rarely will I see my stats around 30%. My best sessions I'm probably around 22% or so, but I've played as low as 16% for a couple hours. With ring games you have the ability to wait for quality hands unlike a tournamet...

Your not gonna be the same player as you were the day before. Somedays that you feel you are playing tight are actually kinda loose and vice versa. In your case, generally you need to tighten up quite a bit, but you'll soon catch onto what is tight and loose play....

I play loose at times, but it's not usualy more than 40%.

Is that full ring!? Thats WAY too high for full ring LIMIT. I think in NL 6 max its possible to be winning with a huge % flop if you really is better than other players(i LOVE to play short handed with 4-5 conservative rocks...) but 45% at full ring limit is trowing money away.

It should be around 20-30 (30 is very loose).

Im sitting at 57.89% at the moment and it doesnt seem like i call too many losers that i shouldnt. I thought anything above about 55% was "good".

Let me revise. I was looking at some of my stats and you want to be 60-70% showdowns won.

If I have a good single session, I will be up in the 80-90% showdowns won in any given 3 hours.

This refers to NL $100 and up where you don't get too many showdowns.
It could change in limit or micro limits.

I think over 50% win at showdown is good. You have to take into account the hands that get checked down and whatnot. Of course the higher the better, but I don't think he should be overly concerned there.

im at micro limits so a fair bit gets checked to showdown too. i think anything above 55% will definatly do the job

I don't feel my post flop play is good enough to gambool yet. I am starting to recognize oppurtunities to play any two cards and win the pot, but I'm not about to play 74 (isn't that Rippy's favorite...) for a significant portion of my stacks, and generally in a ring game, I can't win enough pots to play that LAG and make it profitable, I haven't learned to create the right image for LAG play. Besides I still have leaks in my game and TAG play I is helping me out...

6max changes things man. Of course your gonna see more flops, and blind defense becomes even more challenging. These numbers might be able to be tightened a tad, but 6max definitely changes the outlook on the game. I'm not a very comfortable player at a 6max table yet, not that I mind 6 handed play at a final table, by then I love it (When blinds keep getting bigger, it's more important to steal them). But I think if some of these guys relook at this with 6max in mind for ya, their advice might change a bit.

Hi guys thanks a lot for the input.
I took your advice and played 1500 more hands at a new site.
For the first 3 days it worked brilliantly....my stats were up where you said they should be and I turned $50 in about $325.
However the last two days my percentages dropped ...and so did my bankroll

Could I possibly get a bit more help.
here are my latest stats, i know its not much to go on, but.....

Games 1424
Gams Won % -10
Showdowns Won 68%
Flops seen 34%
Win if flops seen -29%

Dont put too much meaning into stats, as some guy once said "They are the effect of, not the cause of, good poker" Focus more more on reads and stratergy as this is what makes the money.

Having said that I think with a W$@SD of over 65% and 10% games won (still 6-MAX right?) your folding winners and getting bluffed out of too many pots.
