Default Could you lay down the flush

I was playing at BoDog, I was second in chips with around $2k and blinds are 50-100. The table leader is in the small blind. I had been playing well and was now being the loose agreesive. Limping and raising with various hands. The short stack had 120 chips and pushed all-in UTG. I was in 7th position and called with 5-6 suited nowing the chip leader would call and that the BB was forced to call another 20 chips because of the pot odds. The flop came 2c/4c/kc. Since I had flopped a flush but a weak one, I knew I was gonna have to bet out at it. (+ I had a miracle straight flush draw). The small blind and BB check and I bet pot which was about $500. The chip leader check raised me for another 500. I figured three scenerio's. He was check-raising top pair, he had the ace of club and had the draw to the nuts the apparent nuts, or he also flopped the flush). I pushed all-in and he called with Ac/9c and his hand held up. Should I have thrown this away?

    Please don't post results.

I'm not really sure about this hand. You bet the pot, and he min-raised you. That screams a powerful hand, and someone is not typically doing that with merely top pair or even a set when the board is three-flushed.

How many people are still in this tourney btw? That's somewhat important.

At the time, there were about 7 left ( I forgot to rule in the idea of a set). but he could have easily had two pair or the set and tried to make that same move knowing that if they pair the board or there hole cards, they would make the boat. Granted, this was only a $5SNG and I'm thinking that he would be thinking like I'm usually thinking
