i am new here and may be way of the mark with my posts:

if i was him, and i had hit, i would push cause of flush draw. however he didnt go all-in, so i think u have the best hand, and are thusly not bluffing.

People let me tell you about my best friends...
I'm guessing you saw an AI here from the villan?

I don't like this spot. He could have a flush or str8 draws, trip J's, etc. leaving you way behind and in folds-ville. If you really think he's on a stone cold bluff, than smooth call and Bet out on the turn. However, you said you didn't have a read, so this is tough to rationalize outside of a good power poker move...

Nice move if you have the chips. What do you do if he calls?
Fold to a turn bet, bet if he checks?

i wasn't planning on putting any more chips in the pot if this move didn't work.

i did this move because i felt he wouldnt bet out like he did with a jack with such a small stack, and the way i play it he has to fear that i have the jack and he is drawing slim.

    he folded, btw.

I like gabe's line a lot better. If you think you have the best hand, why wouldn't you want to put more money in the pot right away? Also, gabe is out of position anyway so a smooth call and leading the turn, doesn't accomplish anything except for giving gabe's opponent a free card. The opponent almost certainly has more cards in the deck that help him, than gabe has.

I've check-raised with an underpair before too. I really like this move a lot if you see a flop (such as this one) that appears likely to have missed your opponent.

also, check raising the flop is more of a representation of a jack then check call then lead turn

I definitly don't like the slow play/long ball here. An over card hits and you have to shut down
