Default These multi-table SNG's are a gold mine

I've played two multi-table SNG's the last two nights on UB. One was a 30 man SNG and I came in second, and tonight I played a 20 man SNG and also came in second. There is so much dead money in these things it's ridiculous. Now I just need to start winning the damn things. =)

What's the payout structure like in these things?

I've never played one... but AP has a new tab for MTSNGs. I'm anticipating it's activation.

For a 30 man SNG the top 5 get paid with first getting about 35% of the prize pool. Both of them were $5 buyins, and I got about $40 for second in the 30 man, and $30 for second in the twenty man SNG.

I also think these are invaluable when it comes to experience. STT's are fun, but they don't truly prepare you for a final table. At a final table there are huge chipstacks, shortstacks, and everything inbetween, where as in an STT you all start out with the same amount of chips. I find them very fun to play and it's reward to make the FT. Each time I've come into the FT as one of the chipleaders, so it also feeds my ego as well. =)

    PP 30 SnGs pay 30/25/20/15/10.

I agree that they are great for experience. I used to play ST SnGs all day long, but I didn't get adept at larger tournaments until I really started playing the MT SnGs. PP has a lot of dead money as well, and I find the players very lousy shorthanded and heads up.

for sure...i've been exclusively playing 20-30 man sngs for the past 3 months simply because the payout is more, more places pay out (so even limping into the FT you stand a decent shot at moneying), and the percentage of poor players may be even higher than in single tables (probably because the crappier players are drawn to the bigger payouts).

and yeah, i totally agree with the comment about these tournys being a nice mini-training ground for mtts as the stages of these tournys represent a nice condensed version of the stages of play that you go through in mtts.

I like these, but they are frustrating as hell when you are cold-decked. You can usually fold to the "FT" - but if you haven't doubled up once - you are push/fold with a full table. If table is tight, this isn't bad, but too often it's fulla gamblers with 2-3x your stack. Bleah.
