    Default Pushing with AQ suited

ok i was in a 3 dollar tourney sitting with around 8200 chips. i was the 2nd lowest stack compared to everyone elses 15 k plus and even 2 30 k stacks. there were 115 people left i was like in 70th place. I decided to push Utg+1 and was called by the chip leader on the button. he had J10 suited. To make a long story short he caught his 10 on the turn but i was wondering if i made a bad push there being in early position should i have waited to big a differnt spot. the blinds were 300 600. Thanks in advance sorry im a pain you guys are probably going to hear from me alot cause i am in learning mode still havnt found the right game a strategy to fit me. I know im a very very tight player thats it.

Also was that a bad call from the chip leader calling me with J10 suited or was he in the right looking to win a coin flip if he put me on like a big ace or was that a donk move by him cause when he called instantly i was kinda surprised and happy to see a J 10 suited

It was an ok push if you arent comfortable playing the hand postlfop out of position. It was a bad call from the chip leader as j10 suited is dominated by almost every hand u push UTG

But regardless of its lack of worth, JTs is pushed a lot by bullies. That's normally a good thing if you are shortstacked late in a tourney, but sometimes they just catch something ridiculous. Last Party For Free I went out money+20, AI AJo v JTs and the flop came JTx and I didn't catch.

UTG or not, I probably would not have pushed, given you were at more than 12x BB and going for 1/10 your chip stack.

I like the push, I mean if you make it 1800 and miss the flop what are you going to do? If you c-bet it, you're commiting yourself anyway. Are you going to check fold a 4000+ pot? Pushing elminates this decision.

    Default uh huh

it was an ok push and if the button was a chip leader than he made an ok decision

wildbob thats what i was thinking being if i would of raised 3-4x the biug blind he would of called and if i missed like you said and did a continuation bet and he called i would of been in big trouble so thats why i decided to look for a show down hoping i can steal the blinds or sombody like the chip leader making a bad call but it went his way on the board.

With an M of about 9.. this push is fine OOP.

Absolutely terrible call by the chip leader though.

I hate M=9. I have exactly 1 3xRaise in my repitoire, and can only cbet vs. a weak/tighty.

If I just push PF, and end up in a flip or 3:2, I figure I should have waited.

Maybe at this stage, Q takes over from M. So, the fact that you are the short stack, and well below avg. (??) for the tourney, means you cannot but push - since you are too easy to bully.

If you have M=9 and an average, or average+ stack, then your raises PF might get some respect

The raise preflop and push flop looks like a doable play in this position as well. And sneaky - the call by anyone here with TJs was bad. bad bad bad.
