I'd say a possible failed continuation bet on the flop. I'd make a 1000 bet.

I agree. Even if he calls you have outs.

    Check. Take the free card.

The flop bet isnt a true continuation bet as he wasnt the Preflop raiser. Why would he take that shot out of position, unless its a flush-draw semi bluff ?

You should take the free card too, if he checks the river as well and it's not a scare card then you might be able to bet and take it down.

If he is checking and he usually wins his pots with TPTK, then he probably puts you on a king. If you check here then he can reput you on a draw because there are lots of draws out there and if you did have the king, you would be being worried about them. If you take the free card and don't hit, there isn't going to be any way to get him off of his queen.

EDIT: By the way.. sorry for birthing this dead topic.. I realized I was browsing month old topics after I replied.. I have a tendency to like to reply while I try to look for situations on the forum that I find interesting ;D

    Wastin' away again in margaritaville....
I put him on a mid PP like 55-99 or a flush draw. Either way, a bet on the turn should get you the pot unless he's hit a set and then you are drawing for your strt on the river. At least you have outs if he's trying to induce a bluff with that line...

I fold preflop; fold flop; check turn. This is a 180 man tourney and we aren't even done with the first hour. CO has placed himself in a position where he very well will call any bet you make with his stack. You have loads of time to wait and pounce.

Yeah, I don't particulaly like the move pre-flop. Raise not big enough. I guess if you call that flop, you have to bet the turn.

You HAVE the OESD, why spoil it by exposing yourself to a CR which you may not be able/may not WANT to call?
    Preflop... why?

I'm a little confused as to why you called that flop bet in the first place. You've got a gutshot, and that's it. You don't even have overs. It doesn't make sense.

That said, I think you should probably bet out this turn here. If he is playing conservatively, like you said, then he's probably got a queen and the king scared him into checking. You can almost certainly push him off his hand here. If he's not playing conservatively, though, you should take the free card here every time. Walking into a check-raise when you have a draw on the turn is just bad poker.

This is one of the places where reads are really important (I can't understand how people multi-table). If you're opponent suddenly slows down his betting and you're on a draw in position, you have to decide whether to try to push him off his hand. If you don't have a draw, it's an easy decision - aggression. When you do, though, you don't want to risk wasting the draw if your opponent is trixy.

You bet the draw on the turn to give yourself two ways to win. Plus you outs are tainted by clubs.

Is he really going to put alot of money in if the river is a 9? An A?

I don't get the preflop move either. I think it's too ealry for plays like this, esp. against someone you called a "solid player"
