Default Ever Let a Boat Sink?

At Bodog, I played this hand:

Player raises UTG 6xBB (Blinds 5/10) and I call from the cut off with pocket 10's, The flop came 10/kd/Ad. He Checked and I bet almost pot $110 into a $135 pot and he called. The turn came a K. Which would know give me a boat and he checked and I checked behind him. The river came another A. The board read. 10/k/a/k/a. He comes out firing. Easy laydown right? My question is was I wrong to check the turn? I felt like he raised with A/k and he check/called because he hit two pair. Right or wrong read?

Yeah that's almost certainly a good laydown. AK is a strong possibility. Shitty river.

Actually, if villian HAS AK, that river saved hero's bacon - giving an easy laydown.

Any A or K beats you, easy laydown.

If he had AK, why would he check on a draw board? I would think that he would come out raising or CR you. I'm thinking that he has QQ , JJ, or AQ and is calling for the str8 draw. When you checked the turn he made up his mind that you didn't have a K and bet the river. In any event, you're beat if he has an A.

Hmm... I'm not 100% convinced you're up against AK here. You could as easily be up against AQ or even QQ or JJ or something. With a marginal hand, it makes sense to check-call, check-fold in first position and if the villain doesn't bet the turn, to fire at the river.

I probably would have bet that turn, defining his hand. If he didn't have an ace there, there's a good chance he'd lay it down. After all, you have a full house that only loses to one hand (and a very unlikely hand at that - there are 2 kings and 1 ace out there already, so there are only 6 rather than 16 permutations of AK left). He might think he's "trapping" you with KQs, or the K might have scared him if he had AQ.

On the river, though, great fold. Nobody is going to fire into that pot without an A or a K. You've got to give up there.

Very similar hand I played yesterday. After the turn I thought $$$$ I can break anyone who slowplayed their A. Then the river...
