the only thing he is good at is being included as a hook for more famous rappers

    T.I. is from Atlanta anyway.

Eh, I thought Urban Legend was one of the better hiphop albums this year

I think I may have enjoyed 24s, until they played it tooo much.
  19. #19
24s was okay. Rubber Band Man was cool, people at my high school actually started wearing rubber bands...sadly.

But the stuff from his latest album was straight fire.

Scarface is the best rapper from Houston, hands down though.

So maybe I should of put ass clowns down as my answer. Compared to Scarface that's what they all are.

    mmmmmmmmmmmmike jjones!

hah, nah but serioulsy T.I. has way more skill then lil' flips gay ass. That cat is just a moist homothug. I like listening to commercial shit, most of the time Ill like a couple songs from an album. A lot of underground shit, I wont like one song on an album. There are always those underground gems that are so great, but its hard to find those.

And if we do have these polls, for new york we should just do "whos the worst" and have 50cent and ja-rule as the same option. They are both tender fagfillets.

I don't care about rappers listed by city unless it's in the city I'm and could see them all the time. If the music's hot, it's hot. I would bet my left nut that all of these rappers in the poll are shitty as can be.

Hold up, dude. Please explain to me how Bun B got omitted from this list. The P-A-T is close enough ain't it. BTW, Down South is the ONLY real rap music. The only rappers outside the South who really put it down is the Roc and the Roots.

I met Paul Wall outside the FYE record store in Wichita Falls, TX when I was out there in '03. Then he hooked me and my friend up by letting us into his show that night for free. It was at a VFW. Ol boys come a long way since then.

meh, Ive come to hate backpacking ass underground fags. If you really go by the motto "if it aint underground it aint hot" then youre a sheep. You are just a sheep that follows the herder that says you wont be a sheep by following him. Like come on... Big L was not underground, Jay-z is not underground, Big Pun was not underground, Wu-Tang is not undeground, M.O.P. is not underground, need I go on? Sure theres a lot of bullshit in comercial rap, but theres plenty in underground shit too. Ive bought underground albums, and the production was so horrible I couldnt even listen to it. Thats pretty rare on a commercial cut. Open your mind.

By the way, go cop that new wutang: wu-tang meets the indi culture cd. SHIT IS HOT! they show case a buncha underground cats, aesop rock vastaire mf doom, and many others are on it. Sadly no method man, but rza produces some of the tracks and there are some wu heads that bless the mic.

as a serious reply, i dont like ALL indie rap artists at all. i cant stand mf doom, madvillain, jedi mind tricks etc etc. i like aes rock, atmosphere and mr lif...thats it as far as i can remember.

my music taste is pretty eclectic though, i like everything but mainstream rap (thats honestly just garbage) and most country. im at 10k songs now...if only they would make a bigger ipod than 60...

I have seen a lot of flyers and stuff and seen his cds when I used to go to underground shows, but I havent heard much. But once again journey you are making an ignorant statement, saying "I dont like mainstream rap at all". I cant believe that you honestly appreciate good underground, yet find nothing of interest in mainstream rap. I think people like you hear "lean back" and think thats all that fat joe is about. That shit sells, that lines his pockets.. But dont sleep, fat joe has some serious talent, same with jadakiss, and cassidy, and so many others. What you hear on the radio, or see on mtv or bet does not always speak for an artist, pick up some of the peoples albums that I listed ... I think youll find something you like.

Oh shit how oculd I forget, you cant sleep on twista and kanye west. Ill admit twista was a bit fresher before he got super big... but he has such an ill flow, hell always be fresh. And kanye west just comes with some shit no one else has.

But besides this, Im like you ... I listen to almost everything, there are country songs that are fuckin great. Hell I love classical music too. Im kinda lazy in like getting into stuff though, so I dont know much about most other genres, but I still like to listen to them...

oh and itunes radio is pretty cool, good shit to listen to while playing poker. They have all sorts of channels, from classical to country to hip hop.

Yah journey, you might still not like it, most of it still sounds like comercial music. But the lyrical content can be a lot more interesting. And its also nice to hear stuff that hasnt been played to death on the radio. Ill give you a list of some stuff to check out if you want.

Alright folks, let's lay down the law here.... I'm from Houston, and have a degree in Rapology....

I guess you're not counting Bun B cause he isn't officially from H-town (Port Arthur), but he would win it hands down.

Scarface would have to be in the mix, but he's been away for a while, getting old, but he did put H-town on the map, and can still spit some real-ass shit.

Z-Ro has some of the best lyrics and rhyming ability, along with Chamillionaire, so I may have to pick him out of the options you have on your list...

Mike Jones is pretty good, an excellent stage performer with a good voice, but his rhymes are pretty simple, and he repeats himself a little too much, but a very good all-around talent.

Paul Wall is pretty catchy and has easy to memorize lyrics, plus has a large underground following, rhymes are decent, but also simple minded and unoriginal. His shit is jammin' but I don't think he'll be around long, another Bubba Sparxxx.

Lil Flip is a fake ass lying faggot, just getting by on phat beats

Slimm Thug probably keeps it the realest out of all of them, speaking from the streets, decent voice, but no ill ass rhyming ability like ZRo or Chamillionaire

After all of that, I honestly go with the ass-clown answer... (unless you count Bun B) If I had to pick one on your list, it's either Slimm Thug or Chamillionaire, can't really decide, and it really depends on your definition of "best".
Lack of Discipline and Over-Confidence... The root of all poker evil.

I havent seen mike jones live, but Ive seen clips of him performing live. He seems to have stage presence, but his show as a whole seemed weak. Like you know how some rappers just sound terrible outside of teh studio? thats how it seemed with him. I think the guy is smart though. He got his foot in the door by just saying "Im the next grestest thing to hit your radio, just wait and see." He said it so much that people just accepted it as the truth and let it happen, heh. Anyways I think all the rappers on that list though have the hits that they have on the radio and on tv, but nothing else. No content to thier albums at all. I mean ahve you listend to paul walls shit? "I got the internet goin nuts".... listen to that song and thers nothing you can do but laugh. I do completely agree wit hyou about lil flip though. That cat is a faggot. And gimmicky child rappers like lil bow wow and lil romeo name them self "Lil XXXX" not grown ass men.
