Protecting an early set

    Default Protecting an early set

    No reads here as this is only the 4th hand or so. Good line here, could I have extracted more or potentially lost a lot has I played it differently?

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t20 (9 handed) converter

    MP2 (t1210)
    MP3 (t1490)
    CO (t1930)
    Button (t1410)
    SB (t1480)
    Hero (t1500)
    UTG (t1500)
    UTG+1 (t1480)
    MP1 (t1500)

    Preflop: Hero is BB with 6, 6.
    1 fold, UTG+1 calls t20, 1 fold, MP2 calls t20, 3 folds, SB completes, Hero checks.

    Flop: (t80) T, 6, 7 (4 players)
    SB checks, Hero bets t100, UTG+1 folds, MP2 calls t100, SB folds.

    Turn: (t280) 5 (2 players)
    Hero bets t200, MP2 folds.

    Final Pot: t480

    I think i check behind on the turn.
    What is ur reason for betting the turn.

    To protect from the flush draw. I don't see any problem with how this hand is played.

    Given that he folded, i reckon the only card that makes you money on the river is 5d, whereas many cards could give opp straight and/or flush. You don't want to give out free cards here.

    I agree - good turn bet. The made flush would smooth-call or raise and the draw would hopefully drop it, so at least you get a feel for where you stand. Well played. No need to push your luck w a check and river diamond.

    I don't think he had a flush draw.

    I mean...is this $5.50 or $10+1? No one ever fooking folds a flush draw at those levels....

    ...then hero should push.

    Actually, just pushing on the flop would be a fun way to play this at the $10 level or lower.

    that's what I've started to do when flopping a set on a three-flush flop.

    gets called approximately 100 percent of the time by someone with 1 of the flush.
    Playing big pots at small stakes.
