I bet out at least pot - you don't want to give a free turn card.

It's not the nicest of boards out there. If you run into resistance you'll hve to reevaluate (and that's the tough part...)

Seeing how this is a $5 buyin (and that means much looser starting hands for opps), you have to be weary of the 78c. You need to bet a MIN of 300-350 here. If someone calls, and the turn is not a club, then drop the hammer.

I'd only be worried about a set or draws - bet 350-450 to kill any draws.

I can only hope they call t400 on a draw, because I'm pushing the turn...

If you push any turn then you will need to bet more than 400 to give big stack bad odds. If he hits 1 in 5 times and you give him your entire stack he is getting implied odds to chase. Do you push no matter what comes? A lot of scare cards out there (any club/board pairing/str8 cards/A). Reasonable players are folding most draws here, maybe pushing over w/a pair and Flush draw or open ended Str8flush draw. If your willing to go broke on any turn why not bet more on the flop? Who is calling your flop bet of 400 that isn't calling 600? And are you disappointed if you take it down on the flop?

I potted the flop and everyone folded. I was pretty sure it was the correct play but wanted to know if anyone would play it a little differently.

    Fnord:

Absent of reads - which I agree are critical -

how would you play a flop reraise (possible out of a TPTK sort of hand... or a set)?

with your last post, are you getting stacked on a blank turn vs a set that smoothcalls the flop bet?

In a $5 SNG I don't think I'll be making any huge laydowns like folding an overpair on a relatively good flop for my hand here. Bet out the pot and push the turn if you get a caller and a blank hits.
