I'm playing JJ only for trips and overpair value this early in a SnG. On the turn I removed the idea he's on a draw since he bet. He maybe have hit the flop only, but just incase the queen helped him I check/called. Then I blocking bet the river for hopefully a cheap showdown.

    Sound good?

    Downswinging holla!
I think you played it very well by representing a 4 at the end and getting a cheap showdown. He probably had top pair off the flop or something and you took it down, correct?

    preflop and flop are good.

i think in most cases they call the flop because they are drawing or have a pair. this could be something like KQd but thats only one hand in his range and i think you are still ahead and should bet out and not give a free card.

no draw got their on the river, so i think you should check intending on calling any bet. the only hand you get value from on the river is something like A9 or TT, but you should be able to get some value from missed draws trying to salvage the pot.

if he did a good job of representing the 4, he would only get to a showdown against someone that beats him. this is not a representation of a 4, but more like a blocking bet.

well you cant be sure its best, but you bet to protect it. if you are raised you can usually fold pretty easily unless the person has shown they can get out of line.

Hmm ok that's where post-flop fortitude was lacking. I didn't know what to do if I bet and got raised on the turn, so I guess the turn check/call is too passive?

And I'll have to try ur line on the river Gabe. I never thought about it that way. I probably cost myself chips there. I see a scare card and I get too freaked sometimes.
