    Default 99 in LP; M=12

With 99 in late position, facing one limper + a short stack in the blinds and having 800 chips with 25/50 blinds, what play are you making? Raise to 3x/4x? Push? Let it go? As played, do you call the push? This was about 40 mins into the $40k Gnty @ Party.

Your M is actually 10, well, precisely 10.4. If you fold to the small stack, your M will be 9. Here, a read on the small stack would help, but in the lack of one let's see the odds.
there are 325 chips in the pot + his raise of 475 makes for a pot of 800 chips and you have to call 475. That gives you 1.68/1 pot odds. Unless he has a higher pair, you're either a 5-1 or 5-2 favourite, or it's a coinflip if he has AK, etc. Seeing as he IS a short stack, I'd rule out AA/KK/QQ as he'd like to see the other limper complete as well so he can have as much money in the pot as possible, not scare him AND possibly you out of the pot. So I'd say we have just JJ/TT to worry about, and there's a very small statistical chance he has those.
So, unless it's a coinflip you are a favourite, and if it IS a coinflip you have almost 1.7/1 pot odds. Also, winning this pot will get your M up to over 18, putting you well in the Orange zone, giving you some much needed breathing space.

If his stack is the result of weak/loose/stupid play, I call.

M is the number given for your stack in relation to the blinds. In HOH2, Harington explains how there are different zones of M that dictates how you should play (i.e. tight, loose, all in with any two). Do a search on here you should find more info than I can provide or get the book if you haven’t already.

JeffreyGB - In that situation with your stack size I might just push instead of raise. I think that you are committing yourself with the 200 raise. Now you are down to 580 and need to find a hand to push.

How soon are you gonna be at 50/100? If it is coming soon, I push against the reraise here.

Since the original limped folded, I think you can call the short stack here. I don't rule out him having AA/KK/QQ though... just calling is kinda bad with big pairs here because no one will ever give you credit for one on a push (i.e, kills future folding equity pre-flop).

Boy, you are crippled if you lose here, huh. 180. at 25/50.
