    Default career advice? (kinda long)

I've talked with some people, but I haven't really gotten anything that useful. As poker players, you guys might be able to understand what I'm getting at a little better... thanks in advance for any help.

okay... a little background about me.
I'm a piano teacher. Been teaching for a few years, got my licentiate diploma in 2000. Earning $30 USD (equivalent) per hour from teaching piano.
I'm also a dance teacher. I'm getting trained to be a dance teacher by my studio and am doing some teaching meanwhile. Earning $12 USD for each hour present at the studio (including time spent getting taught to dance and trained), and an extra $8 USD for each hour spent actually teaching. The free training is very valuable to me.
I'm a poker player and bonus whore. I do the best bonuses (good party bonuses, bet365, paradise reloads, intercasino, CON), and spend the rest of my time playing $15+1 turbo SNGs at stars with or without bonus in sets of 5 (5 tables). ROI is 33% over 348 tourneys (previous tourneys were $6+0.50 turbos) and average hourly earn rate is $28 USD.

I enjoy all of the above activities. I'm studying a combined degree commerce/law. I've finished 3 years. 2 more years to go. 1 year of articled clerkship to become a lawyer (if I can get it). I like uni life, but I couldn't care for any of the classes. I don't think i'm learning shit in commerce, although law is kinda interesting.

I'm thinking that I'd like to do a combination of all my three 'jobs' on a part time basis: probably teach dance and get training 2 days a week like present (maybe up to 3 days); then I'd increase my piano teaching to about 15 hours a week, and play poker for 20 hours a week. This way I'd be motivated to work maybe 60 hours a week and rake in the cash (no way I could work that much at a job). I'd be my own boss, and I'd have lots of variety, challenge and a broad skill set. I'm thinking about deferring my uni-study to do this (i'm going to become a fully qualified dance teacher this JAN). My parents aren't thrilled about me deferring or 'wasting' my law education, but have indicated they will support me whatever decision I make.

What do you guys think? I don't think I want to be a lawyer, and I really enjoy working for myself. But it does seem a pity not to use my LLB... but who would let me work 2 days a week as a lawyer? Can I be fairly confident I can continue to make good side money from poker, given my relative inexperience (I feel it will gradually get better and better)? Do you think the 'variety' route is a good way to go? (rather than the old-fashioned specialization line of thought?)

If you've read this whole post, thanks! If you post something, then I would be extremely grateful. But just writing it has helped clarify my thoughts a little bit.

i think you should do what pleases you the most. you enjoy working for yourself, so do that. but i think you should finish school first, it will makes thing so much easier in the future if you ever fall on hard times.

Finisnhing the law degree cant do any harm, t least its there if you need it. But teaching/poker sounds good. You can earn enough to live plus play poker and hopefully add to it. I'd go for that it sounds good to me.

Dont do something that will make you miserable, and I think to be a lawyer you have to love it to do it, since it requires so much time and effort.
