i don't think groovy wants to play for stacks versus you. A PF push is acceptable. A flop push is damn near mandatory.

    Either:
-call preflop, fold unless you set
    or
-reraise preflop, bet pot if checked to, and push if he leads.

tough spot pre flop. I don't hate the call. I think you then have to go with that flop and push - if the plan was to play for a set, it was a bad plan. If calling, you need to go with pretty much any flop without an A or two other overs. The flop smooth call is totally puzzling to me. Hoping he would check the turn to you I guess... meh.

Mostly I push pre flop here. Option 2 is call and play safe flops as detailed above. Option 3 is fold, which... is defensible, I think. But unusual.

I go all-in or fold preflop depending on how loose this player is.

For those who are interested, i called turn & he had JJ.

Thinking about it afterwards, i reckon he would have reluctantly called had i pushed either preflop or flop, but i reckon that the correct move for me was to fold preflop as TT is not that strong 8 handed, and it's just very unlikely to be +EV as i can't be confident without trips. If i call i have to push that flop, but he has to call it with an overpair.

So in the same situation again, i think i would fold preflop, and i think having called i'm really struggling to get away from the hand without a read. I knew i was behind when i called the turn, but i was tired, which is maybe the only reason i played the hand in the first place.

I'd push the flop/turn because so many times AK down to AQ or AJ will call.... of course it also depends on a read and if this person is super tight, I'd have to re-consider.... what was you read at this point?

Overpair over overpair is a pain just like set over set but it happens. I think its played fine and you got unlucky. This is one of the best flops you could ask for with TT (minus having a T in there) and if you won't push/call the flop with that, then fold pf unless your sole goal is to hit a ten or fold
Dealer: bencathers has two pair, Aces and Deuces
Dealer: Tbags has two pair, Kings and Jacks
Dealer: Tbags finished the tournament in 256th place

The call preflop isnt terrible, some would fold, some call and some would reraise, either had its advantages and disadvantages.

I think if you do call the flop and the flop is unders, you must push into his bet. A cal on the flop commits you to the pot but you dont want the turn to be an overcard.

Tough hand. Seems this is a situation where you're destined to lose your entire stack, and you probably should.
Playing big pots at small stakes.

Maybe a reraise preflop to see where you are at or push. If smooth call by him if you reraise, I wouldn't have put him necessarily on JJ. However, as played not bad. Push the flop. Make him have to make a big decision.

    Default hmm

you started off kind of ok then got worse each bet, imho.

    1) preflop call 12,000 - well maybe not the best but ok, at least you see a flop and maybe hit a set, and still have a good stack.

    2) post flop call 19,000 - not good - here the flop has no overcards but has a flush and str8 draw. Not only that, but your opponent showed preflop strength, and is the big stack. At this point i put him on either big pair, or Ax suited niether of which i want to play against. But if you are going to play it anyway, go all in here with a chance of forcing him out.

    3) turn call AI - even worse. another 8 showed up, and the flush is on the board. He has either hit his flush, has an 8 or a big pair. In any event I would think i was beat here and make the laydown. Even if you have put alot of chips in, if you have any chips at all you are still alive. Next hand could be AA, someone else could bust out, etc.

    just my 2cp
