Weak Bubble Play

    Default Weak Bubble Play

I'm having trouble with playing weak near the bubble, even when I'm fairly comfortable chip-wise.

For instance, last night I played the 2500FR on Party.

I played great poker (I hesitate to say that ever, but I really did, good reads, money always went in with the best hand etc.) up until about 50 left. 30 got paid. I tightened up like a turtle's asshole and wouldn't call all-in's with AJs.

My question is for the more experienced MTT players. How often does playing aggressively around the bubble cost you your tournament?

To make it worse there wasn't much chance to blind steal as every raise was waaaay overbet (probably due to the freeroll nature) and usually got one caller.
You should never wave at people you don't know, cause what if they don't have a hand. They'll think you're cocky. "Look what I got motherfucker, this thing is useful, I'ma go pick somethin up."

    Thats not tight....

I dont call all in's with AJs

Most likely hands for people to push with:
    AA
    KK
    QQ
    JJ
    TT
    99
    88
    77
    66
    55
    44
    33
    22
    AK
    AQ
    AJ
    AT
    KQ
    KJ
    KT
    QJ

Of all of the hands they are most likely to have..

    6 have you crushed
    10 more are a favorite
    1 has you tied

    and...

    3 you have dominated
    2 your a favorite

I dont know about you, but I DONT like thoes odds.

    Q. Is poker Gambling?
    A. Do you use correct bankroll management?

    Default yeah

yeah i agree, A10, AJ, AQ suited or not are all kind of weak vs all-in late stages. More often than not you will be up against AK or any pair, which i dont like. Better ways to play than putting your tourney at risk with a good chance of busting out, unless you are short or big stacked.
