How big a tourney was this? What is the payout structure? Any read on this opp.?

His push makes no sense as he should have put you on a flush draw and called behind with his set/top 2. His min betting doesn't seem like he is concerned with protecting against a draw, could be a weak semi bluff with a flush draw, but he could be thinking that he wants to extrat value for his "big hand." If I thought he was a very good player (and should know that I have the flush), I could lay this down. Since you posted it, I'm wondering if it turned out to be flush over flush, but I need a reason to fold here. If my read on him was that he had done things like min raising preflop/playing junk hands/ and generally not playing like a pro, I am calling this. So, is he a donkey? Or did he have KQc (the only hand a good player could have taken his line with)?

    Perfect setup MAX...

This was a 45 player $5+.50 sng. The opp was playing tight-agg all game with no donkey bets and didn't get caught on any bluffs. I put him on a weak ace at first, but the consistent weak bets made me wonder if he was drawing as well...if he'd bet strong I would've folded.

I thought about this for quite a while and finally, reluctantly, laid it down. He was gracious enough to show and, sure enough, he had me with the K c...

    I'm just glad I didn't go all-in when I made my flush.

NLD. I hope I would have done the same in the heat of the moment, with your read. Its always easier to analyze after the fact. So tempting with the chance to take a huge chip lead, especially after chasing the flop and turn. IMO the diff. between good and great players is hands like this.

I would have been thinking that if he had an A or a set on that flop he would have protected it by betting pot or close to it. A small bet would mean to me that he is drawing. Bad players would be drawing to a str8 on that flop with KJ. If he is a decent player he may think that you were drawing as well and made the all in on the river thinking that you would call with a weaker flush. Good lay down.

When I give myself the time to THINK, I do well. When I don't, I bust, and that happens too often. Guess my goal for '06 should be to think more...
