i get dealt qq like 100 remain u know how table gets tighter etc usually well i have about 7.5k left and im dealt queens blinds are 600/1200 do u guys like the the half stack raise or the complete push, i push all in no callers...

then id say 3/4 orbits later im getting SS and around 5gs in chips get 7/7 first blinds are 800/1600 do u push all in here or wait..

i push all in called by 99

post away in mtt u wann avoid toss up right, but at some point ur gonna have to risk it to double up right..then with a great hand do u like to push or 1/2 stack raise if ur stack is about 5-7 m

With only 7.5k, I'm pushing QQ most of the time. Depending on how others at the table play, I might get a little tricky, but QQ is fairly weak for making such plays.

The 77 play is a little more questionable. Issues like position and stack sizes (to check your FE) come into play. Without knowing these, it can easily be a good play. Running into 99 specifically is just bad luck, but there might have been other reasons to play the hand one way or another.

yeah with SS and a pp and early to act theres always that question oh but what if i wait till after the blinds oh ill only have 3.5k left etc hardly anything to do with blinds being at 2400 total blah blah blah, hate that position being SS.

I think he's saying stack size in the second hand is 5k.

If that's true, both are clear pushes if you're opening the pot, UTG or CO or SB.

The QQ, put half in if you want, but don't fold the flop. I very much doubt you would have been called for half the stack either.

Try not to focus on results.

    They were suited!
I push both QQ and 77 without hesitation in these situations. Most of your opponents will pick up on your desperation and put you on a weaker hand, like Ax or KQ or the like. They'll call down with a small pair or whatever, hoping to knock you out.

Someone putting only half their stack in when they have this low of an M throws up red flags to me, screaming that they have a big hand. But an all-in move gives very little information, which is the most beneficial in this situation.

Oh yeah, and your push with 77 was good, don't worry about what happened after that.

I'm not questioning that he was in push/fold mode. I'm just stating that even in push/fold there are definitely times when you want to let 77 go. I'm less likely to play it UTG, for instance, and table dynamics can enter into the decision as well.

Reviewing the blinds/stack specified in his post, I'll agree that it was almost definitely the best play.
