I like it. You are playing your stack. Unless fishy has high PP he is folding along with the rest. I would imagine you have a read here too.

As I said in an earlier post I don't play this high a tourney but if I did I'm folding in his position like a little baby unless I have pocket Qs or better.

I think it highly depends on reads and your table image.
Given the other player's stack sizes he should not be risking all his chips on a marginal hand, however if he is playing to win and you have a loose image it is a good chance for him to doubleup

I'd call your punk ass with any 2 in that spot...

Ditto. I'm not sure what hands players at this level are capable of laying down but I'd never try this in $20 or $30 (The level I play at) since a lot of people there seem incapable of laying down 2 broadways or Ax.

I love the play though. If you knew you were playing all good players who think you are tight, the blinds won't call you without a monster and the raiser won't call you without AJ or better or a big pair. (And calling with AJ here is a very marginal play). But aces, I salute you for having the balls to even make this play.

I play at $15s, it's a move i have used before and love, you just need to pick your spots

    $15 - NL - 9 Seats 6245379-61 Holdem No Limit 150/300
    Hand Start.
    Seat 1 : burnz4200 has $3,660
    Seat 4 : joeg has $1,290
    Seat 5 : nickthefool has $9,200
    Seat 9 : giddygidget has $3,850
    joeg is the dealer.
    nickthefool posted small blind.
    giddygidget posted big blind.
Game [61] started with 4 players.
    Dealing Hole Cards.
    Seat 5 : nickthefool has 8h 5c
    burnz4200 called 300 and raised 600
    joeg folded.
nickthefool called 750 and raised 8,300 and is All-in
    giddygidget folded.
    burnz4200 folded.
nickthefool wins 2,100 as the last player standing
    Hand is over.

In this case I had realised the other 3 players were all playing just to get in the money, after this hand i just bullied them for ages, finally got called by burnz when he was down to 2k...my QJs beat his AKs to take me up to 14k and an easy 1st place

I think it really depends on the numbers you have in your name. In your case I'm folding anything else here but 68.

    himself fucker.
Lots of 2+2ers'll tell you that its an instapush every time. I agree that it is usually for the best, but ops sometimes psyche themselves up for a call.

I like it. Your fold equity is so high here, it's +EV

Agreed, it's important to notice which opponents are likely to call without premium hands.

how do u lose with 86 here? ITS UR HAND!!!!
  13. #13
Seems I've had a few too many come-from-ahead defeats to try this very often(and this is at the same stakes). I would want the opp to be pretty loose and me to have a fairly tight image to try this. I would more often fold here.

Default He has to be calling, right?

He just raised with 1/3 of his stack. And it was 4xbb not 2 or 3. I don't play at Stars so maybe the 2xbb steal raise doesn't exist there. I assume he knows you're capable of making a move on him in this spot. But I since he's showing real strength, for you to come back over the top also shows "real" strength?

I need to have seen the player try to steal with crap (well, Kx, Ax) before I can make this move. But maybe that's why I'm playing 11's and you're playing 215's. I just don't want to race with a guy for 1/2 my stack. And racing is best case. He could have an overpair.

I fold. But I'll be reading all the posts to see why I shouldn't. Hopefully I can learn something.

Think he plays Aces like that? Could very well be tipping his hand.

lets say he plays X hands like that, if hes willing to fold Y of those X ahnds, its ends up just being a big math problem.

IM sure u have a large enough FE here to just smudge the calculation most of the time.

Wat i told aces was (not that i have any place in actually giving him advice =P) that i can understadn the play, and I think its a good play, but in a vaccuum i dont make the play, beucase i dont kno this opponent at all. But any slight lean towards him folding any hands probably makes it a good play.

opp might fold this one, but i believe the move is -ev. And if you get called, everyone will see what a crazy mother you are, so you can expect calls in the future. (that may be a good thing....)
