i had him on either A7 or a set.
i think its better if you are the one pushing here.
its good that you have live cards but i dont think you are ahead to often. its better if you are the one pushing allin so he might just fold.

Obviously it's better if I'm the one pushing, but to you is calling the push good or bad given that it played out this way. I'm assuming you're not saying you push over his initial raise, since the stacks are deep enough to make that almost absurd.

yeah i think you should fold here, i think you are behind most of the time here.
and yeah you cant push over his reraise here because the stacks are so deep it would be stupid.

If he's on a set, I'm way behind here, but if he has A7 or an overpair other than 88/99, I'm actually in pretty good shape - it's basically a coinflip (43% v 57%). If that's the case, then I definitely have the odds to make the call.

i guess if you hope he doesnt have a set here.
but do you want to take coin flips this early in a sng?
i would rather outplay my oppents then take what i hope is a coinflip

umm...MTT, and we're not really that early; he and I both just have decent stacks.

And yes, I think coinflips with 2k chips in on the side are +EV. Though I'd love to hear reasoning behind saying that's wrong.

Jeffrey, you need to post this hand here.

boy. you can understand why a set would push that board, but so would over pair and certainly flush draw could make same play. I might fold to a tight opp, but with no read or a looser read I think I'm gambooling here.

Looks like you both played pretty well. I like a little bigger raise on the flop. A high flush draw pretty much has to at least call the flop raise, bigger raise gets more info and folds.

Do you think the long call is a trap? By 89?
Given your even stacks, it's a pretty ballsy move with only A7... A5h???

I think I find a fold here. TPNK+Idiot end of straight draw on a 2-flush board... ugh.

OK, I am looking now. Ah, balls.

does the mantra "only play big pots w/big hands" have any meaning here? In my rookie/fish opinion TP NK + a straight draw doesn't seem to be strong enough at a full table to call this big of a raise w/your tourney on the line.

this is a MTT he wants to get a big stack. sometimes top pair could be good enough here.. and he always has live cards with the straight draw. it's very possible the other guy could have just a straight or flush draw here too.
