    Default Series of Bad Hands

I dunno if a topic like this has been posted, however I have played a couple of MTT (NL Texas Hold'em) last couple of days (low staked on pokerstars).

I am new to online poker, but have played casual most my life with friends and last 2 to 3 weeks I have been reading multiple web sites and have read a couple of the books recomened on this website and feel fairly comfortable understanding them.

Basically I always do fairly well, I win most my hand by agressive betting and by having very few showdowns in general.

But one thing I keep running into is a series of horrible hands. Last night I was probly in top 50 in chip count in a 191 MTT and really did not get one hand with above a 10 for 40 minutes (seriously). I figured this was a fluke, but I kept folding and folding and by the time I got a hand that was playable I was not to strong in chips and I was being pinned to the wall with mediocer hands and started to be short stacked at the table.

Well this happened to me again today with no hands for a good 15 to 20 minutes in a 5 table SnG I went from 5th (25? left) to 13th (18 th left at this time ) before I had a playable hand and soon became short stack on the table.

In some of the books I read they always say play atleast 1 in 6 hands regaurdless of cards, but with my agressive play, if i were to play like I had a hand, it would be major hit to me.

Anyone have any tips for me, I had this happened to me 2 times this past weeked and atleast one ot two times before time before (typically I would say I play the top 40 to 50 hands and the top 20 agressively). I would really liek to avoide this reoccuring problem.

    Thanks,

Ya i know, i shoudl of said I didnt get a top 50 hand. I always play small pocket pairs. Suited connectors I dont play if I am playing tight, but I might see the flop withtem 50 % of time.

Any rule of thumbs for stealing blinds, I did do this a few tiems today being short stacked and going all on with hands like Kx or Ax and I won blinds and bets before hand.

Atleast how often should I do it if I had a bad series of cards, liek 1 in 6 or 7 ?

    Thanx,

    Thanx,
play suited connectors when you have position.
you should always be stealing blinds once they get up there (not everytime but most)
and steal from late position say it folds around and you are in late position or on the button raise it up with pretty much any 2 cards to steal the blinds hopefully you dont get reraised. most of the time they will fold or call. if they call you might hit something on the flop, but you can always try to take it down on the flop again especially if it is just against 1 other person.

On suited connectors, I use to play them alot. But lately, I dunno.. it seems I lose more on them then win.

Espcially if it is like a 23s or 34s and you get a flush draw, someone might limp in with a suited card that is for sure higher, it happens to much. Meybe I am wrong, I am just more resiliant to play suited connectors below 910S or 10Js.

If there is a good argument on this anywhere, I would liek to read it to sway me more either way.

    Thx,

well i dont have any articles about them i can think of but for suited connectors you want to limp in from late position with lots of other people in the hand. you are going to lose most of the time on them, just fold the flop if you dont get a draw. but when you hit your draw you can win huge pots with them.
