Default when is it ok to play low PP

This is most likely out there all ready, however I would like a few general rules for this. Play early in tourny; late position?

ill play them from anywhere if i can get a cheap flop because if i hit a set im usually doubling up. any time you can limp from late position do it. ill usually limp from anywhere but i dont know if that is good advice or not.

I play them in any position with a limp early in a tourney. I will call 3x raises as well. I fold when I don't hit on the flop. You can lose a lot of chips this way though so you have to be patient and luck out a few times for it to be profitable.

What you want is other callers as well. This gives you the implied odds to call. If you are the first to call you need to know if your table is loose enough for more callers.

In all positions early in a tourney you are limping low pocket pairs for sets and folding to any raise over 3xBB (varies depending on reads).

In all positions late in a tourney you're either folding them outright or raising to steal blinds and/or to isolate.

If you are 10xbb or less wouldn't you be going all in with them?

Oh, and all of this advice for small pp applies to suited connectors too.

If late in tourny do you push low PP all-in or if you have big stack call an all-in with them?

this really really depends on everything else thats been going on in the tourney.

these questions are really too broad to be answered with any certaintiy.

late in the tourney when there is 4 players left or so, and you are the shortstack, and are dealt a mid pp (6-10) you definitely go all-in.

people tend to call the short stacks with marginal hands at best; a2-5, k2-5, j10, etc. so usually you should be doubling up.

One of my favorite hands to play if I am heads up in a pot.I like playing them from anywhere, I especially like playing them If I can get heads -up in a pot with one 3x the blind raiser. If they raise 3 times the blind and don't lead out with at least double that bet after the flop I drill em with a huge raise figuring they missed the flop or are scared to bet much with over cards out there. If you can afford it raise big and show massive strength not just a little double raise. You can't be scared to raise when you feel weakness, If I get called I'm probably beat but it works for me a good % of the time. (this is all provided I have enough chips, usually early in the game,)

I'm limping small pp's early in a SnG from anywhere. As for what to do if faced with a raise, I am calling off anything up to about 8% of my stack because this is the odds of you catching your set.

Some say that they go for 10% but I prefer to sticking to the lower end to allow for those times where u hit your set and still lose (i.e. set over set, someone flopping a flush and you not filling up etc). You also defend your stack slightly more at the start of the tournament to allow you more chips to make manouevers (fold equity I guess) if you catch a dry run or take a bad beat.

Once I catch my set, I am looking to play it fast. I don't believe in slow-playing them because at the lower buy-in SnGs and especially whilst the blinds are so low, people are going to be chasing cards for silly prices, so you need to be betting and making people pay for their draw.
Later in the SnG, depending on stacks and reads, I am possibly folding the really small pp's in EP to avoid difficult decisions (playing small pp's out of position with bigger blinds representing far more of your stack) or I am raising with them to represent strength and try and take any caller down with a C-bet but I also raise to attempt to control the amount you are actually paying to hit your set and taking down the really big pots and de-stacking people.

My advice differs to this. I am looking for far deeper stacks and a tight table before I start playing suited connectors. I am far more defensive with them. I am looking for late position and multiple callers before I start playing these. In EP and even MP I am folding these pre-flop.
In and around the Bubble, I am playing these more aggressively when I play them but I try to restrict how often I play these before I start getting tempted to play other, non-suited connectors and "Gus Hansen style hands" . It is purely me forcing myself to be disciplined. I think it is merely a difference in style to other players.
