Default Is this a bad push?

Both players are loose, especially BigMike20. I have seen him calling 2/3-pot sized flop bets with obvious draws on the board with nothing but an overcard, and also try to bluff big with scare card (non hit) on the turn.

Therefore, I want to take this down at the flop, as I do not think I will be able to lay it down on later streets no matter which cards come given the reads and the fact that a bet will commit me to the pot considering my remaining stack. I'm also thinking that he just might call with overcards here.

    Is this thinking flawed?

    Looks good to me.

Good play, this is a really good flop for you. If he's holding a 7, well then he's a donk for calling your PF raise. I think you're way ahead here.

Thanks for the replies. I too figured I was ahead, so I was wondering if I maybe should have tried to get some more chips out of him.

Anyways, it turns out he was either a huuuge donk or he thought I was trying to steal the dead money in the pot preflop, or a combination of the two. Needless to say, I was very surprised to see what he turned over:

    BigMike20 Call $ 550.00 05:04:44
Card dealt to table 5s 05:04:46
Card dealt to table Ks 05:04:48
BigMike20 Showdown Show card: Full House
    7c 7s 7h 5s 5c 05:04:50

He flipped 97o. Who in their right mind both limps 97o and calls a big PFR with it? So I ended up paying him off and laughing my ass off doing it.

Frustrating hand history...Where do you play? Good push, pretty standard, perhaps I would push pf...

I don't think a pre-flop push here is the correct play, expecially against loose players. You do want them to call you with marginal hands because most of the time you will win the hand if an A of K miss the flop.

I probably would have played the hand the same way you did, then laughed, made a note on that player and gone on to another tourney.
Poker is easy, it's winning at poker that's hard.

This is at Bodog. I guess the fish come out at night there, which suits me perfectly as I'm on a 6 hour time difference compared to the US.
