Default AQ late in an MTT

Dr hadn't been super active, but was aggro with any two when he played. I'm thinking I like a push over his flop raise here. Another part of me liked the fold. Thoughts?

I would not have cold called PF. I would have either pushed or folded.

Wild B has it, push fold pre flop... look where the call got you.

If you're calling pre flop because you think he'll lead regardless, of course you go over the top here. I don't really know what to make of your 'read'. It sort of sounds like TAG... personally I'm folding AQ to an EP raise from a TAG 100 % of the time. You don't have the price to chase a Q high flop or better, and I don't think you would have liked any other board.

I think you can cold call this, but you have to push over on that flop.
I think I like that like slightly better than pushing pre-flop, because I don't really want a coin flip vs like 99 or TT.

If you had more chips, you could flat call the flop bet as well, that would be fun!

Folding is not bad either vs. a tight big stack EP raise. Also 2.5x.... that's a "please call me raise" unless the table is supah toit.

The table was super tight, so the raise didn't seem out of place.

Also, my read on this guy was pretty weak, 'cause he was pretty new to the table.

The interesting thing about that is... how did HE know the table was tight if he was new to the table...

You M is like 8. In this situation, before I commit any chips to the pot I decide if I am willing to go all the way with this hand. Now, I might still fold if the flop come K9T all diamonds or something.

the less you know about opp, the more this becomes push/fold.
