Default $27 Turbo - QQ overpair against PFR

No reads other than I saw him checkraise a PFR and then open push a turn with a set of 8s to beat a stupid AK.

Bigger flop bet? I was halfing my stack with my bet anyway, anyone push the flop?

I guess you smooth called looking to play any non A/K flop?

I play about the same post flop. Pushing lets more hands fold and there is no chance someone is folding a hand that beats you. Your bet makes them pay to chase with an over or lower PP or something like AT. Maybe your play gives him odds to chase with 54 but... he doesn't have 54.

    This is fun.

I don't mind the way you played it, but me being the aggressive Brit I am, might push it in on the flop.

Your play and my play are both good, in my opinion.

Am I the only one who pushes pre-flop? Or at least stick 1/2 your stack in. True, you might have to cinch up your shorts if original raiser pushes over...

Yeah, you flip with AK. Any other hand you are way ahead of. Plus, short stack has an autocall - while he might (and did) get away on the flop.

Pushing flop is fine, as you played is fine too

I would raise preflop. He's playing kind of like scared pocket Kings or Aces and a reraise might bring that out preflop.

He's calling off a lot of chips for a board like that.

Yeah, the smooth call is to play any non A/K flop and to get more value out of the hand. Since I didn't see him do anything stupid and he wasn't a loose raiser, I can put him on a decent hand. If I push preflop or just re-raise preflop to 450, he'll probably drop most stuff that I have dominated - except for maybe TT-JJ and AQs.

By seeing a flop he most likely puts in another bet w/ two high cards or a lower PP and I can basically take any non-scary flop without an A/K.

My flop raise as opposed to a push is to entice lesser hands to call. I would have prefered to have put in a raise to 750-800, but I got a little whigged out by my stack size.

In this case, he did call with a lesser hand than me: JJ.
