Looks g00t - SB could afford to call a std 3x raise, and BB might come along as well or try to steal the pot.

It might be just me, but I HATE pushing with a weak A. I'd be much more comfortable pushing with here. It's tough, but I think you can find a better spot in the next 2 orbits.

    hmm.

if shortie is loose and the other stacks are claling with 77+ and ATs+ and AJo+ then its +EV

I hate pushing in over 1000 chips when blinds are only at 100 - especially with a weak ace...

That said, this really depends on your reads of the other players, and even more so, their view of you.

    standard? prolly no.

    legit? sure.

worst thing is if you pick up a big hand while at this stack/level, do you push again, or take it down to 3x and scream MONSTER.

Preffered line: Bet enough to commit the small stack in the bb, but allow you to fold to a push over from the smb(big stack). 350 may send a message to the smb that you are not on a steal and that you are commited to the hand(even though you can find a fold if he pushes over).

***outside of the box line (can't say that I prefer it, but just food for thought): If you have not min raised all tournament(and I hope you haven't) this could be a nice time to go 225 or min raise to rep a monster. Less likely that big stack pushes over because this is very suspicious and there is less in the pot to steal. Small stack is probably in push fold mode and if you can't lay down when he comes over the top, you will just wind up ai w/him the same as if you pushed. This is for good observant opp. only. When someone goes 3bb all tourny and then puts in less, they are often holding a monster, but only a decent player notices and respects the "weak" bet. Before anyone flips out, the reason this is an option is because you have not made these weak bets previously, if you had then this line would get zero respect. Please don't try this as it is most definitly not standard and I would only do it with a read that my opp. would think monster and not weakness(almost never but once in a blue moon).

I don't really like the push either, but I can't fold A6s suited on the button being a shortish stack, and 3x bet almost commits me or at least makes me desparate if I fold to a push. The 225 "monster" rep bet might work, but is also likely to get a call from one or both blinds unless they are uber-tight.

I'm not at all clear that pushing 1100+ chips into the pot to win 150 with 3 people left to act is the right move. I'd rather raise 2.5x than push. You'll still get folds if no one has anything, or worse case short stack pushes. At least it's something you can get away from if necessary.

Blinds aren't that big and your stack is not that small. I can't believe pushing here is +EV....
