Default PS 15+1 Turbo: Unusual (for me) slowplay of a set

Comments on all streets? I hardly ever slowplay sets because I think checkraising broadcasts that you have a monster hand, and you have a better chance of winning a big pot by just playing straightforward. But for a variety of reasons I decided to slowplay this one.

No reads on MP2. SB is a donkey who built his stack by overplaying top pair, crappy kicker and hitting a lucky 2 pair.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t50 (8 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

    UTG+1 (t2670)
    MP1 (t770)
    MP2 (t1710)
    CO (t1275)
    Button (t1470)
    SB (t2795)
    BB (t1355)
    Hero (t1455)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with K, K.
    Hero raises to t200, 2 folds, MP2 calls t200, 2 folds, SB calls t175, 1 fold.

    Flop: (t650) K, A, J (3 players)
    SB bets t150, Hero calls t150, MP2 calls t150.

    Turn: (t1100) Q (3 players)
    SB bets t500, Hero calls t500, MP2 calls t500.

    River: (t2600) 2 (3 players)
SB bets t600, Hero raises to t605, MP2 folds, SB calls t5.

    Final Pot: t3810

I hate to say it, but I think I reraise hard (to maybe 500) on that flop. Any AK, AJ, etc will come along, but I get the Qs and Ts to fold (unless they have both... )

If it wasnt so coordinated, I'd play it the same as you, but that flop screams straight draws so loudly I'd want to take it down right there. Probably a bad play on my part, but I'd be like - "hey, pay me for my set now".

I hate to slowplay a monster that gets so easily counterfeited....

It matters not. Do you really want the gutshots to fold on the flop???? Once the Q (or T) comes on the turn, you are both committed for all you cheeps. No matter if you raise turn or call river. Same with spade draw. He's not folding AXs on the turn, and you aren't folding KKK with 9 outs to the nuts.

I think you should have called the river bet and saved the 5 chips (grin).

Just think... if you lose the hand but come back to win from 5 chips... legendary!

    Zenbitz = Brilliant.
I would have put that last 5 in as well. Another leak in my game fixed!
