Default JJ overpair with paired board

With this many people in the pot, this early (first level), I have to concede some chance of this guy having a 9 here. What else could he call the flop bet with?

    FLOP [board cards 9C,9D,2C ]
    kuyarj28 checks
    S Arp checks
    MLBCUBS bets $100
    baudib bets $500
    bellingo folds
    kuyarj28 folds
    S Arp folds
    MLBCUBS calls $400.

    TURN [board cards 9C,9D,2C,9S ]
    MLBCUBS bets $100
    baudib ????

    calls $100

    RIVER [board cards 9C,9D,2C,9S,6C ]
MLBCUBS bets $200, baudib calls $200.

    SHOWDOWN
    MLBCUBS shows [ 10C,KC ]
    baudib shows [ JS,JD ]
    baudib wins $1,850.

    Your loosing, lolololololololololol
Ugly. He didn't raise preflop, so high pair is probably out. I wonder if he's just a complete moron on a flush draw. I've seen that before.
Anyway, I think I'd just call.

What buyin is this? I would have raised more than $30 at the earliest blind levels - 2.5xBB raises never really get respect.

A lot of people will call your flop raise and bet out with any pocket pair here, sticking it out until a high card comes. A stupid flush draw or two high cards maybe? Most likely a PP.

As for what to do, cheap showdown. You've likely got the best hand here, but don't want to go broke on it.

    Stack sizes?

A pocket pair can and may call your flop overbet (it IS too much IMO). If he's holding a higher pocket pair, he's partly a tard and probably getting paid off by me.

My assessment - you are ahead too often here to let this one go. Show it down.

PS - I pay off 9x here all the time, as much as I'd almost certainly pay off any straight flush any time I'm holding the nut flush on a nonpaired board.

Without reading results... he can call flop with any pair, AK. He just has to believe that his pair is better than yours. No one gives credit for the 9 here. Certainly not quads when the turn hits.

JJ on a 999x board is NOT the nuts... but it is the 5th nuts. Kinda like having the nut flush on a paired board.

Read the rest... Raise turn because of the club draw. Show down cheap is good... but not THAT cheap. Also raise turn because I don't like letting people get away with stupid little donk bets like that. I would probably raise turn with any 2 (although that would make the flop play.... questionable)

the boy limped AKclubs (maybe it's vqc ) or has a pocket pair 55-88. Raise his ass to 300 or as much as you think he'll call cuz he won't put any more in on the river if he's drawing for the flush.

Dude took the lead on the flop and called an overbet of the pot on a flush draw, even thought his flush was good with a three-to-a-kind on board. Don't make assumptions about what these people will call.
