Default yeaaa for me and SNG's

So I started throwing in some 5+.5 sngs with my ring game. Mostly for some fun and a little change of pace.
So I fired up a SNG and a 10NL ring game.
1st SNG I play tight and so does everyone. Weird. Anyways, I go on to place 3rd.

2nd SNG I play tight until the blinds are worth stealing and go on to finish 2nd

3rd SNG I play tight (there's a pattern here) steal some blinds and win a few races...lose a few races. But it's nice to look down at AA and see someone in front of you go allin.
Go on to get 1st place!! I felt real confident. I was aware of the other players, stack sizes, position, everything seemed to be clicking.

So $16.50 invested and $50 returned in 1 day!
Thats like a 300% ROI. Is this sustainable for me?? J/K
    Yeaaa for SNG's!!
(Just thought I'd post my success! I'm happy for now.)

SnG's are the most enjoyable form of poker, IMO.

Short bursts of structured play, with a simple and achievable reward system.

I can appreciate that "grinding" multi-table sit n go's at a rate of 20-per-session could get horrible... but taken one at a time and focused on so that yes, you are "aware of the other players, stack sizes, position, [and] everything seems to be clicking" they're great.

Make sure you have plenty of spare money in your BR to handle the days when you just can't win one though.

Also another skill for SnG's is learning when "just one more" will be a waste of your money, as you have bollocks all chance of winning it in your current tired/tilty/overconfident state of mind.

    AMEN.

Sheesh, on Sunday I turned a profit of $120+ playing $5/0.50 SNGs (single and multi-table, but only one at a time) and one private 9 player tournament at $10/1.00 and that was with a couple of bad beats on the bubble.

Last night, I couldn't buy any luck and should've quit playing long before I actually did quit playing. One SNG, 2-table, final 5 and I'm big stack...call an allin push by the shortstack after the flop and I've got top pair and he's got nothing but hits runner runner for a straight. Very next hand, I lose to him again when I've got top TWO pairs and again he hits runner runner for a straight. Busted out on the bubble probably 5 times and finished 3rd a couple of times...all in all, lost about $50. Ugh.

Anyway, great advice, Dog...I'll be sure to stay more disciplined and live by your words next time I hit the skids.
