I can appreciate that "grinding" multi-table sit n go's at a rate of 20-per-session could get horrible... but taken one at a time and focused on so that yes, you are "aware of the other players, stack sizes, position, [and] everything seems to be clicking" they're great.
Make sure you have plenty of spare money in your BR to handle the days when you just can't win one though.
Also another skill for SnG's is learning when "just one more" will be a waste of your money, as you have bollocks all chance of winning it in your current tired/tilty/overconfident state of mind.
AMEN.
Sheesh, on Sunday I turned a profit of $120+ playing $5/0.50 SNGs (single and multi-table, but only one at a time) and one private 9 player tournament at $10/1.00 and that was with a couple of bad beats on the bubble.
Last night, I couldn't buy any luck and should've quit playing long before I actually did quit playing. One SNG, 2-table, final 5 and I'm big stack...call an allin push by the shortstack after the flop and I've got top pair and he's got nothing but hits runner runner for a straight. Very next hand, I lose to him again when I've got top TWO pairs and again he hits runner runner for a straight. Busted out on the bubble probably 5 times and finished 3rd a couple of times...all in all, lost about $50. Ugh.
Anyway, great advice, Dog...I'll be sure to stay more disciplined and live by your words next time I hit the skids.
