Probably not..if he raised the flop then he probably has something like AK or AQ. Unless he's a moron and raises on a flush draw. Plus, the A is already out there and the only hand that I can think of that he'd call a raise preflop with is KQs, so I'd take my chances and call if I were you.

The overbet reraise leads me to this he is on a draw, the fact you took the time to post it tells me you got beat by a river flush.

Okay, so I'm still learning, and have only been playing a little while, but i'll have a go at it.

    I think A9.

You should absolutely call this, every time. The only thing that's beating you on the flop is 88 (AA would almost certainly have re-raised PF) and you've got to pay that off, especially as you have three times his stack.

Call and hope a spade doesn't hit. The check raise all in from sb is a draw of some sort if he is a decent player.

This hand really took the wind out of my sails.win and I'm chip leader, but I lose and become a average stack

    preflop I'm 44% (SB is 18%,BB is 34%)
post flop when all the money went in,I'm 89% (SB & BB are 5% each)

    Default hmm

Well no way i fold the set here, if they hit runner runner for the str8 so be it, these things happen. Wouldve liked to been playing against only the AQ but A9 is one of those players who simply does not have a fold button, they are out there.

What's the buy-in for this? I should have asked at the beginning.

10th place out of 750 players, should I just let this go?
If you want to be a good poker player you have GOT to let this go.

    You will take bad beats

    OVER AND OVER

To play good poker you are required to let the bad beats roll off your back and keep on playing.

You will lose because you read that all in steal perfectly and have your JJ busted by T3o so many times that it's not even funny. If you cant just let go, then you will tear yourself up playing poker.

You had all of your money in as a large favorite.... At that point, the hand is over, win or lose.

    Q. Is poker Gambling?
    A. Do you use correct bankroll management?

Outphase has stumbled upon a question that players who have the POTENTIAL to be winning players don't ask themselves nearly enough.
