Default How should I play these Jacks?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t30 (8 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

    MP1 (t1465)
    MP2 (t1400)
    CO (t3140)
    Button (t1500)
    SB (t1290)
    Hero (t1520)
    UTG (t1470)
    UTG+1 (t1715)

Preflop: Hero is BB with J, J.
UTG calls t30, UTG+1 calls t30, 1 fold, MP2 calls t30, 2 folds, SB completes, Hero ?? How much should I raise, a 4 x BB bet wont do it but what will?

    Flop: (t510) 9, A, T (4 players)
Hero checks, UTG checks, UTG+1 checks, MP2 bets t120, Hero folds, UTG raises to t540, UTG+1 folds, MP2 folds.

How should I have played the flop?

    Final Pot: t1170

I would not raise. I think the greatest EV for JJ at this stage of the tourney is playing it for trips (you are getting infinite odds to check your bb). Raising gets rid of people who might have caught something to pay you off with when you hit, and those with Overs to your pair stick around anyways. If there was more in the pot, a push would be my preffered line.

edit: yes on the flop fold, and cowboys are KK.

Checking would be OK, if you're going to raise 3BB + 1BB/limper, so 7BB (210).

I couldn't imagine anything but folding to that flop with 6 other people in. Especially after two people decided they liked it.

Yeah I agree. This is one of the many reasons why most people hate Jacks more than any other hand. They look so pretty, but looks are deceiving.

Standard play for me with Jacks is play for sets early and then start getting pushy once the blinds have bite.

With 4 limpers in front of me, I'm not raising this PF. If it was just the SB completing I would raise to 4x BB (120). On the flop, I agree - set or forget unless the flop comes all unders.

With that many limpers, I either push preflop to steal the blinds or play for set value. If you want to value raise a good way to go about it is (3 + #of limpers)x BB
