    Default AJ late stages

I appologize for not haviing the actual hand history here but anyway here it is. Im wondering if I played this correctly

The blinds were 2000/4000 were about 40 players left and I was already ITM. My stack was around $45000 where as the average stack was about $80 000

I was dealt AJo in middle position and raised to $10 000 with one limper behind me. Everyone folded to the button who called. Both the blinds folded. The limper called.

The flop came K-J-4 rainbow. EP checked. I checked. Button checked.

    The turn was an ace.

    I bet $12 000
Button player raised all in $80 000
    EP folded.
    I called all in.

What would you do in this situation?

It looks like he's made a hand already... he just called your pf raise, so KK or AA is most likely out (I had a guy flat call with KK last night is why I only say most likely), JJ or 44 may be a possibility, as well as another AJ or AK. QT isn't really anything to worry about. The possibility of all four jacks in play is pretty rare.

I either put him on 44 or AK - in both cases you're behind, or if he has AJ, you're splitting.

I fold and look for a better spot. I'm really interested in seeing the results though.

Push preflop is one good option there.

The way you played was fine too though. MTTs are all about patience, and your big hands holding up. There is no way you can fold two pair there with your chip stack - you either have him or he has you. Sometimes, there is nothing you can do about losing.

I busted out with KK versus TT tonight when a T hi flop hit and there was no way I could fold because my opp might have had JJ, QQ or AT. Sucked to be me, but that's poker.

Oh, I didn't see his chipstack at first. Nvm, yeah, you have to go for it.

I probably bet that flop; definitely get all my chips in on the turn. You don't have enough chips for much else.

    I would push/fold preflop

    Agree.

Limper is kinda scary with these blinds, could be trapping. Do you have a read on him? If you know limping from him is a sign of strength/weakness, I'd push/fold accordingly. Also, your PF raise was not large enough to drive out the limper/BB, they are getting great odds to see a flop. Most times I'd just push here unless I'd seen the limper, trap before.

I agree with WildBob concerning your preflop raise. If it was me I would probably push it in there. As you played it on the flop and turn was fine. I would definately get all of my chips in there with two pair. You may be up against trips, Ax, or KJ.

Anyways, I wanted to fold here because I felt like he had AK. But then again I only had about 25 000 chips left so I called.

He turned over AA so I was drawing dead to the river
