Too many ways to lose there, and stacks are too short to bet the turn to see where you stand. But I wouldn't doubt that opp bet simply because you didn't.... not much you can do about it.... except fold.

I hate check/folding here... but what can you do? Push flop maybe?

OK - maybe not push flop, but overbet it. That would require pushing the turn, probably, or check/folding a bigger pot!

If you push flop - you lose to AA/KK/QQ/99/77/66, plus various 2 pairs. You are probably paying off those hands if turn river comes no hearts no overcards.

8X hearts is slightly ahead as well.
