    Default Against a maniac...?

Level 2 of a 10+1 mtt, I found a maniac that likes to fire at pots, and hasn't seen anyone play back at him yet. Here's some things I've seen.

    mzip: raises 80 to 100
    GATE23: folds
    TbHackworth: folds
    chrishanna: calls 100
    chosen86: folds
    Swingy: folds
    blazin_trips: folds
    ramonreyes: folds
    ontilt720: calls 80
    *** FLOP *** [Js 9h 5c]
    ontilt720: bets 80
    mzip: raises 220 to 300
    chrishanna: folds
    ontilt720: folds
    --
    chrishanna: folds
    chosen86: folds
    Swingy: raises 40 to 60
    blazin_trips: folds
    ramonreyes: folds
    ontilt720: calls 60
    mzip: raises 240 to 300
    GATE23: folds
    TbHackworth: folds
    Swingy: folds
    ontilt720: folds
    --
    ontilt720: folds
mzip: raises 1110 to 1130 and is all-in
    GATE23: folds
    TbHackworth: folds
    chrishanna: folds
    chosen86: folds
    Swingy: folds
    blazin_trips: folds
    ramonreyes: folds

I limped this hand because I felt I had good pot odds with all the limpers before me. I raised to isolate him (Good move?), and then when he fired back at me, I didn't know what to do. My timebank went down to about 30 seconds until I finally decided what to do. With all of the above actions in just 15-20 minutes, what would you do and why?

I think you should let this one go and trap him when you know for sure your hand is good. He's not just raising a bet, he is re-raising you. Good maniacs know when to let go of the trigger, and thats when someone raises you. He's not backing off when you raise.

Meh... I busted out around 130th when I caught a guy stealing and it went bad.

I think warning bells should be going off when this maniac bets small for once on the flop.

I would not have limped QK preflop there. You've got position at a table that has shown its tendency to fold to raises preflop. Raise it up to 180-250 there preflop.

Not only that, but all of villians previous raises have been pre-flop... I actually thought he had QQ/KK/AA. But part of that is that even though you hid the results, I knew you lost because you posted.

Runner-Runner Never Funner! I totally missed that. But clearly calling the all/in was a mistake.

so if you win, you played it right?

    I detect a leak.

If you're talking to me chard, that's not what I was saying. Just telling zenbitz that THaC won on that hand. Obviously, just because you win doesn't mean you played it right. No leak here.
