Trapping implies you have a hand. You don't. you have a strong draw... Push. You can't get cute here. Opp may well have a pocket pair, in which case, you can take the race here. You want to see all 5 cards.

I'm going to war with this hand looking to double or bust, so i want his entire stack in the middle. I reraise to 1000... um this is of course very risky if he just calls, but the idea is to get him to push over, since he may fold to a push AI.

I play turbo's so I would play it like above depending on the table. In a normal sng you may just want to take the pot now.
Still in a turbo or normal sng, pushing probably is the easiest and best play.
Success is how high you bounce after hitting bottom.

I would say that pushing is the path of least risk, and should stop him from trying to steal from you for a while (if it is in fact a steal).

And you want to see all 5 cards if you play it.

Don't get cute with this hand. Push. Trap with AA and KK and sometimes QQ.

I must say I like this approach better than just a push. AKs is a very strong hand 5-handed and I would be in good position for 1'st place if I double up here.

I don't have a strong opinion vs. push/re-raise. SNG so the odds of me setting him up in the future are small. I think I like ridiculous committing not-all-in re-raise.

HOWEVER... I don't like what Fortune500 says here above. AK is *so* a hand. It's the 14th nuts pre-flop. Saying it's not a hand because it's not a pair is just crazy talk.

What you really mean when you say "you don't have a hand" is that "you are less likely to win unimproved". I think heads up any A or K is pretty likely to win unimproved, so even by that restrictive definition, AKs is still a hand.

AK is only a draw vs a pair.
