What's so donkish about a 1/2 pot bet here? It's not a bad push, but I'm guessing you got instacalled here.

Pots at 250 and he min bets into the pot after limping preflop.

plus it was a UTG limp which usualy means to me a small to mid PP, or Ax. That added onto the fact that the bet was so small made it donkish.

whats wrong with his bet? if he thinks you didnt hit 100 into a 250 is fine.. why bet more? You are the BB, so its very likely you won't have hit anything worth calling. Theres no way to tell if he has a K or not.. he could very likely have KQ or Kx.

Frankly 100 or 200 bet really doesnt make a difference here.. either way if you call your pretty much comitted

well, I don't like his bet here. You can argue that it's a 1/2 pot bet, but it's not. To me it's a lazy bet because he has just pressed the bet button because he thinks that, with only him and the BB in the hand and the BB checking to him, all he has to do is bet and he'll take the pot down. I like the move.

However, some reads would have helped (come on vq, you know the drill!). Simply because I was playing the other night with some guy who did this a couple of times - weak min bet lead, gets raised - beats the other guy in the pot - in a weak-means-strong stylee.

I think the only hands who might call here are KQ, KJ, Axc, TT, 99 or 77, all of which may well limp utg. I suspect you're right, and he made a lazy cont bet to take the pot, but I don't think this is a safe enough assumption to throw your stack away. However, you need to play aggro to get some chips back, so I don't hate the move. I hope it worked.

(tell us he had 88 and called )

This is an intersting hand... I dont think his bet is terrible, I actually have become a huge fan of the blind wars min bet when it was just completed preflop. I constantly do this in heads up situations. However I never end up doing it outside of the blinds, because well.. its no longer a half pot bet, and I rarely am open limping out of the blinds. In blind wars or heads up play (same thing essentially) this trick words wonders. It picks up tons of small pots. Every once in a while Ill get a donk who thinks hes caught on, hell let me limp then when I min bet hell reraise me like 8 bbs. Ill let this slide a couple times then just wait til I have second pair or better, and crush him with a reraise. If I let him do it 4 times then drop the hammer, we break even. And from then on he doesnt ever try that silly shit again.

As for the reraise on the flop, yes I love it, hes got nothing, youve got something, you dont wnat him getting any more cards, all in, well played.
You-- yes, you-- you're a cunt.
