    Default Double Shootout Satellite Competition

All I'll be playing this week is $11 Double Shootout satellites to the PokerStars $750k.

    I HEREBY DECLARE WAR.

Whoever can win the most double shootout satellites by the $750k tourney this Sunday is God.

UPDATE: I took down one, first try.

Glad you mentioned it Dman, because I was going to do it myself. My thoughts:

These things are pretty easy. 8 table, 8-handed double shoot out for $10+1. If you win the first table you automatically win $35 which is basically what you would get for winning a 8-handed SNG anyways. The top two at the final table get $200+15 seats. I've played 9 so far and FT'd 3 times with one seat. The competition is similar to what you'd find in a $10-$20 SNG, ie. not very good. They run every 15 minutes, alternating between normal speed and turbo versions. I think I'll only being playing the turbos from now of because last night I played a regular one that last almost 3 hours. The turbos last around half as long. I think these are much easier to win seats in than the $3 r/a satellites, the investment is roughly the same and they don't last nearly as long.
TheXianti: (Triptanes) why are you not a thinking person?

So, the double shoot out format is:

8 x 8 player SNGs. 8 winners go to FT SNG 8 player with 1500 new chips?
2nd place worth anything in the first table? 3rd place in FT I assume goes home with nothing?

I note that if you win 2 9-player $25s, you profit $169 which I guess is a little short of the $215 entry. But you get somewhat less than that for 2nd / 3rd places.

What do you get for winning a 18-player $22 or $27?

In the first table, only 1st place advances to the final table, 2nd place gets nothing.

Everyone on the final table is guaranteed $35. The top two finishers on the final table get the $215 seats.

Hmmm... do you have to be aggressive early in the first round, or can you fold your way to 5 people left and then hammer the field.

The level of competition is about the same as a $6.50 Stars Turbo SnG (only with 1 less player).

So, yes, I use my turbo strategy of uber-tight early on and laggy later on, with a lot of praying and luckbox usage involved.

Wow I have shittly luck in these.

It's nice these players make such bad calls but it would be nice if they didn't suck out
