Results from the past 2 $5 + $0.50 SNG's

Hey everyone, Im new to FTR. Ive been zoning the sight out now for months trying to aquire all the helpful information I can to improve my game.

Ive been playing poker online probably for about 8 months off and on, and learned to play the game in the summer of 2004.

I started off playing ring with $20 and managed to built it up to $185 over the course of a couple months. Those arnt amazing wins but at least im up, thats how I look at it. These past 3-4 days I have been on a very very cold spell in $0.05/$0.10 ring tables.

I decided to try a few $5 + $0.50 SNG and suprize suprize my losing streak continues. At this time my BR is around $120. Here are the results from the SNG's.

Thanks, Im also curious to know if I should have played those hands differently. I mean the blinds were getting pretty big and I was nearly shortstacked.

Maybe on the KK, I should have just called the re-raise then pushed all-in on the flop?

If you got your money in as a huge favorite then you probably played the hand correctly (and you certainly didn't do anything wrong in either of these hands). Just because your opponent got lucky doesn't mean you made a mistake.

Also you need to not get "fired up" just because of a bad beat. Getting angry leads to going on tilt and making the wrong decisions in the future which will cost you money. Just brush it off. KK is supposed to lose to AQ 30 percent of the time.

Both hands were played correctly, you just got out-drawn. It'll happen fewer times than you would win. It's just variance, you can't win'em all.

Okay, Thanks a lot for the positive feedback. I am currently sitting on a BR of $125. Any suggestions on weather I should go back to $0.05/$0.10 ring or should I just continue to play $5 + $0.50 SNG's and wait until the bad luck changes.

At this point im very frusterated because I spend a lot of time making careful descisions from day to day then one day I get bad beat after bad beat and lose 1/3 of my BR.

Play what you enjoy playing. As long as you're rolled for it, you should just play whichever game you feel like. Downswings are unavoidable, you will have to learn to accept them and get through them if you want to keep playing poker.
